A science-fiction-themed sitcom 3RD ROCK FROM THE SUN looked at the absurdity of human behavior and society from the perspective of a literal outsider. Four alien beings have been transported to Earth in order to more closely study mankind. Landing in the town of Rutherford Ohio each member of the quartet takes on a human appearance forming the "Solomon" family: leader Dick (John Lithgow) sophomoric Harry (French Stewart) man-trapped-in-a-woman's-body Sally (Kristen Johnston) and eldest member (in the form of a teenage boy) Tommy (Joseph Gordon-Levitt). As they set out to examine the habits of the humans around them the team experiences human emotions and encounters many comic misunderstandings from their too-literal readings of human words and actions. Better than season 5
I feel that season 6 is better than season 5 since it lay off of the excess of sexual innuendos that weren't really humorous.

Sad to see the show end
I had never seen the last season of 3rd Rock until it came out on DVD and it made me sad to see it end.

I have to say the creators picked a perfect time to end the series.
It had runs its course and was no longer fresh and unpredictable, though
season 6 is still extremely funny and the ending is great !!
A must for 3rd Rock fans !!

3rd Rock From the Sun Season 6
I never watched this series when it was actually on the air. I'm not a sci-fi person and just figured it wouldn't interest me. I started catching episodes here and there on late night television. I found myself laughing out loud at these so-called aliens. This is a hilarious comedy and I now own the entire series on dvd. I watch a few episodes atleast once a week for a good laugh.

Love Third Rock!
I love this sit com! Sorry to see it end. But I guess after 6 years on earth, not much would be new/.unknown to ailiens.
This show will always be a favorite of mine.
