Good travel bed when toddler is too big for Pack-n-Play
We recently purchased this for use since our 2 year old is too big for a Pack and Play. The size is great, the slightly raised sides help keep them in, although may take a little bit of time getting used to. The first couple of nights, I recommend putting a couple of pillows/blanket on an exposed side. We placed the bed against a wall and put a couple of pillows on the other side.
While a child can crawl out, our son stayed in his, especially with some firm encouragement from mom or dad. If you are concerned about that, a pack and play may be the only option when traveling.
It came with a fleece sheet/mattress cover; we used it as a mattress cover and them put standard twin sheets on it. They fit fine. Rating:

comfortable & easy to use

Nice little bed if your child isnt a tosser & turner
The bed is nice alternative to the regular aerobed because of it's smaller size. However, the lip isn't tall enough to prevent a child that typically moves around while sleeping from rolling off the bed. However, we found that if you are able to wedge it in between two things, such as a hotel bed and a wall, it works pretty well. Mediocre in comfort, but fine for travel. Rating:

great for traveling
I've owned this bed for three years now and it just got it's first hole. I patched it up and it works great again. I love this bed for traveling. Make sure the surface you put it on is clean and you shouldn't have any problems with holes. I've even caught my kids jumping on it a couple of time and hasn't popped yet. Rating:

Worth Every Penny!
We purchased this inflatable bed for our son prior to a two-week trip to India. He's too big for a pack-n-play, but still not big enough to sleep on his own in an adult bed. Plus, we wanted to avoid the hassle of carrying a large travel bed all the way across the world.
We inflated the bed for a test run a few weeks before our departure date and our son loved it so much he chose to sleep in the Aerobed instead of in his fire-engine shaped toddler bed that we paid more than twice as much for! It's super easy to inflate - literally takes less than 30 seconds - with the very powerful pump. Also super easy to deflate, fold and store. The sheet that comes with it is soft and makes the bed more comfortable than just sleeping on the vinyl would be. It's extremely durable - made it around the world and back without a single problem - and very comfortable for our son.
The raised sides are just enough to keep him from rolling out on the floor but not so high that he feels like he's in a "baby bed." The carry duffel makes it easy to keep the bed, pump and sheet all together in one spot.
While I thought the price tag was high when we bought it, our son has had such great rest on this bed that I now feel it was worth every penny. I'd highly recommend it to anyone looking for an easy-to-use, sturdy and comfortable travel bed. |
