Fantastic, but needs arm floats for toddlers
My almost 3-year-old daughter has been using this for a month now and it is wonderful. If she wears arm floats on her arms and this suit, she can be completely independent in the water. Of course, I am ALWAYS sure to be within arms reach of her just in case, but she doesn't need to be holding on to anyone or anything and she is free to paddle around however she wants. She's usually a pretty cautious girl, but she had absolutely no fear getting into the water in this. And I can see that she is really learning the basic mechanics of being in the water because of the freedom to move around on her own.

The fabric is very durable and the float part easy to inflate with a foot pump (I don't know if just blowing into it would work, since I didn't try).

Make sure to pair this with some arm floats (the same company makes ones that I picked up at a local drugstore for $[...], but I've tried others also and they all work fine).

How durable is this toy
This works great my son won't swim without it-however he's so big for it I have to cut the bottom of the suit portion off. As long as you store it inside and out of the heat these last.

Best floatation device
I bought one of these last year for my 2 year old grandson. This is much better than any I have used. It's very solid and doesn't use a plastic air plug that can easily be pulled out. Other jackets, etc. would push up on his face. This keeps him well above water. He did tip a little at first but quickly learned how to keep his balance which increased his confidence in the pool. We still don't take our eyes off of him for a second of course!!!! His sister was confidently swimming on her own at the age of 4 and I think he will be swimming this year at 3. I'm buying another one of these for the little sister and guests.

works for stubborn, independent 14 month old
I read the reviews and decided to give this a try after returning a speedo float suit that didn't work for me. My daughter figured out how to crawl out of those little boats and floats with the seats, she doesn't like to be held all the time in the water so I had to find something that would give her a little freedom and not give me a heart attack. Since she is younger then the recommended age I was a little concerned. Well she put my concerns to rest in 5 minutes. That is the amount of time it took her to right herself and figure out how to stay upright. It works great and she loves it, she was all over our hot tub. Please understand an adult needs to be right with the child if she is this young. I was there to help her upright herself when she spun over but she did fine on her own.

You are the trainer not the float
This was a great float! My son loved it he was under 2 yrs old when he got it . traveled a whole resort pool on his own ,w/ me following of course. Parents must remember it takes a while for the child to learn to balance and kick to manuver & steer. Their stomach muscles are not use to do this. Its your job to train them,show them how to kick their legs they will love to spin in circles. Its like when they learned to walk, go from 2 hands, to 2 fingers, 1 finger & voila there balancing themselves. Have fun swimming & Good luck.
