could be better
these speakers work well as long as they are close to the source. They do not work well through walls. But it's nice to have the wireless option.

Nice sound, especially for the price.
The sound quality, ease of installation and compact, sharp appearance make the speakers highly recommendable. Especially for the price, I would buy these again for another gift.

pretty decent for the price... but they don't work THAT great
Here are the pros on my speakers:
These things look cool, they run on batteries or an A/C outlet, the bass is good, they're LOUD, they're very simple to set up.

And the cons:
The range is not as far as specified (there's almost no signal travelling to the other side of the house 25 feet away), the remote has limited functions (you get volume control and a "Power" button that ONLY turns off and NOT on), there really should be equalizer knobs on each speaker (their bass is a little too prevalent when compared to my desktop speakers).

And while you're buying stuff on amazon, go ahead and get an audio splitter, you'll definately need it (unless you like plugging in/out audio jacks from you computer)!

Better than expected, but do not use rechargable batteries
I have experimented with wireless speakers in the past and have found them almost unusable. In contrast, these speaker sound very good with very little interference or cut out. That being said, they are not a replacement for wired, traditional speakers.

I live in an apartment building in NYC, which should be a torture test for technology like this. The speakers work great throughout my apartment and on the balcony. I haven't identified any portable phone interference.

Please note that this product DOES NOT properly charge rechargable batteriers (even though Amazon features them on the same page). When I tried rechargables in the speakers, it promptly fried both speakers. Amazon was great in replacing the speakers, and the replacement set works flawlessly with standard C batteries. There is no noticable difference in performance using battery power vs. plugged in.

I'll update this review with the battery life I experience.

Splendid work-free sound.
I purchased this set along with the "add-on" speaker also available thru Amazon. I have since installed them in my back yard, and all three sound very good. A word of caution to would-be battery users- Purchase Rechargeables! Alkaline batteries last about 18 hours before you notice they are beginning to fail. Other than that minor detail, these are definitely true plug-and-play devices, that add value and functionality to any home stereo system, or other audio device.
