Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-06-07 Bamboo tablet This is a very good tablet and I use the mouse that came with it all the time. Better than the mouse I had. The pen is a little hard to get use to but I'm sure it will be good too. Just need a little practice. Rating: Date: 2008-06-04 Wacom Bamboo Medium for professional results Just a quick note for those of you considering to purchase a new Wacom Bamboo tablet...
I am a professional graphic artist and web developer. I use a Wacom Intuos2 at the office and was considering getting one for the home. After several weeks of research I decided to go with the less expensive and smaller Wacom Bamboo tablet for my home/personal use. My 2 reasons for deciding on the Bamboo were as follows: First off, I have a 4 year old son who wants to draw on everything, and paying $350+ for a tablet similar to my Intuos at work would just not be worth the risk, (those of you with kids can relate!); Secondly, I have a limited amount of space on my home desk and a large tablet similar to my 9x12 at work just would not fit where I need it. With that in mind, I opted for the Medium version of the Wacom Bamboo and after a month of heavy use, I have yet to discover a flaw. Although statistically it has half the pressure sensitivity of the Intuos models, after some minor adjusting of the settings, I can tell very little difference between the Bamboo and the Intuos at work. My main concern for this tablet was that the smaller size would require a large adjustment on my part since I am use to a larger tablet, however, the tablet is designed to match my widescreen display and I actually find the smaller size much easier and more manageable than the larger Intuos.
Bottom line is this, if you want a accurate and reliable tablet that doesn't take up a lot of space and still leaves you plenty of money to buy more gas for your car, the Wacom Bamboo Medium is a great choice. It will give you fast, reliable control with plenty of available options to move your creative side forward. Rating: Date: 2008-05-22 Handy Gadget Wow, this is so cool! Has been great for fine details when photo editing that are next to impossible with a mouse. The fact that it includes a wireless mouse for use on the touchpad is a plus too, no batteris necessary ever. However, was disappointed that it is not portable, ie usable on more than one computer,as the EULA does not allow you to load software on more than one computer. I would highly recommend it, & it is such a great price. Rating: Date: 2008-05-20 Graphic Design Excellence I have owned a Graphire as well as this. Both are excellent products from Wacom. All tablets help relieve repetitive stress from wrist and index-finger clicking. I have had problems in the past, but am quite relieved with daily tablet use.
For the Bamboo specifcally, it is compact and very clean. There is a back usb plug that sticks out, potentially blocking some access if you work with the tablet in front of the keyboard. The surface for the pen area is rougher than other tablets. It seems it gives a little wear to the pen's tip, but several replacements are included. The tablet area is wide, made specifically for widescreen monitors.
It also works with the Graphire's pens.
Excellent product for the budget-minded designers. Great for professional use.
Rating: Date: 2008-05-10 Great Item! Great Price! The Bamboo Fun is the best Pen Tablet device I have ever used. Wacom has made a wonderful product that is feature rich and has great performance. The Bamboo Fun has four user programable buttons on the tablet along with a programable ring for zooming and scrolling. The Bamboo Fun gives you a lot of great features and awesome performance for not a lot of money. I would definitely recommend the Bamboo Fun to anyone on a budget and looking for a great product for hand writing recognition, picture editing, drafting, artists, digital scrap booking and so much more! Way to go Wacom for building such a wonderful product for people on a budget! This pen tablet has more features than a lot of the high dollar ones out there and doesn't sacrifice any performance! |
