Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-07-08 Great product! I have an Aladdin garage door opener. I was able to use the Smart button on my current opener to program this one. Very easy to program and install. This was on sale for $25 with free shipping. Great buy compared to other stores selling it for $35. Rating: Date: 2008-07-08 No complaints Really, no complaints. Lightened keypad is nifty. Too early to report on battery life. Works fine with my 10YO Chamberlain opener. Programming is not a snap but certainly pretty easy following the programming sheet. This is one of those products that just needs to work - all the time - and never be noticed - it does just that. Rating: Date: 2008-06-27 Good - not to fancy - gets the job done Install was easy, the whole process took 1 minute. It took me ten minutes to navigate through one-page folded map instructions. The unit is all plastic, and the buttons are clear rubber that glow red.
For what I paid and for what it is, it is great. I think the on caveat is that if I saw this in the store I might have paid extra for something that looks nicer. Rating: Date: 2008-06-22 Works Great We have an older Craftsman garage door, and I wasnt sure if it would work or not but it works great. The previous owners of our house had one of these, but didnt know how to reprogram it and had forgotten the code. Installation was pretty easy, it comes with different installation methods depending and make and year produced of you garage door. I had to vary a little from what the instructions said I needed to do, but not much (on a part that had to do with the actual door opener not the clicker).
We have had no problems in a little over a month now, and use it quite a few times a week. An easy no wiring solution that anyone can install and use. Rating: Date: 2008-04-15 As advertised, very convenient! This product was extremely easy to program (took about 5 mins, including reading the instructions), push a few buttons, push one on the opener, and BINGO, it's done! It has been great not needing the car keys to get into the garage from outside.
I can't speak to the longevity of this product, as I just got it about 1 month ago. It appears, however, that the new model only functions for a few seconds after you enter the code, which eliminates the concerns of reviewers of the old model had, that someone could come up right after they walk away and hit a button to open the door.
Final note, it is really more of an off-white/cream color. Luckily, that is what I really wanted.
