Mediocre personal fan at best
My family and I bought this fan before a camping trip to South Carolina in July. I was really looking forward to a cool breeze in our tent. Much to my dismay, this puny fan did not provide ANY breeze. Holding it in your hand, 6 inches away from your face, it is a mediocre personal fan. It might work for one-person tents, but for families or hot climates, this isn't worth its weight.

Fragile Blades
I have one of these fans. It worked great until the blades broke off. I got about 4 or 5 camping trips with it. Next time I took it out of the camping chest the blades were broken. Not much good now & don't know how to get more blades. I would suggest instead of this item to find a tent fan with a good cage around the blades to protect them. No chain is stonger than its weakest link, and these flimsy unprotected blades are its weakest link. I would think Coleman could do better than this.

Tent relief for one
For one person, this fan can be a sleep saver for those 80 degree nights, though its weight and battery requirements would keep it out of my backpack. We used it for car camping and there it worked well. Because its flexible propellor doesn't push a lot of air, its position and direction are important, and the fan is slighly frustrating to move around, due to the strong magnet clasp. It needs to be 1-2ft from the target to be felt; definitely not enough for two or three people on a hot night.

Great for one person
We just returned from a Cub Scout campout in South Carolina, the temperature was 98 degrees and the humidity was about 90%. This little fan was the best thing I brought along. I am ordering two more so the kids can be cool next time - it really doesn't do much unless it is blowing right in your face, but for that, it is wonderful. The blades are very safe, too; the kids could put their hands right into the spinning blades and there was no harm done to the fan or the fingers.
