Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-06-16 Elegant and functional This bike rack is simple and elegant. I use it every day, and it's relatively easy to hang the bike from and take it back down. Rating: Date: 2008-05-13 good solid rack This rack is nice and solid and holds the bike well. It works especially well when you can anchor to a stud, but it's been OK so far for me in the first few months anchored into concrete with included wallplugs. I set mine up so that the back wheel would usually be resting on the ground, to reduce the load on the hook.
I also bought the bottom tire holder to protect the wall. It's OK - doesn't really serve much purpose, and it's a matter of opinion whether a lump of plastic is less of an eyesore than a tire mark on the wall.
I use a variety of sizes of bikes on these, and so far they've all been OK. Positioning of the bottom tire holder isn't going to perfect for all bikes if you use for more than one. Rating: Date: 2008-04-07 Execellent Idea Does just what I needed it to do, get my bike off the garage floor. Easy to install. Great product Rating: Date: 2008-01-21 for my road bike for my small apartment, this set up is the most appropriate. it came with all necessary screws and mollys. its holding up my road bike without ripping a hole in the drywall yet! Rating: Date: 2008-01-18 Not true that it fits all wheel sizes From the product description: "It conveniently accommodates any wheel size--from touring to phat, chunky mountain tires." This is absolutely not true. It did not work with two different mountain bikes we tried, both with 26 inch tires, which is pretty much the standard/medium sized tire for mountain bikes now. This rack may be good for road/racing bike wheels, but it absolutely does not fit many popular mountain bike tires once installed. This needs to be clear to the consumer. I feel like I wasted a lot of time and energy on this. Popular mountain bike wheels have been bigger for at least a decade now. The product's advertisement needs to be clear that it cannot accommodate such wheels. This is apparently an old design, and all Delta seems to have done to keep up with bike trends was change fat to "phat" in their advertisement. How about actually changing the design to keep up with the times or the advertisement to reflect accurate information? |
