In a Nutshell: Cute, huggable toy, great for young children | At a Glance Ages: 1-1/2 years and up Requires: 6 AA batteries (included) | | | Meet T.M.X. Cookie Monster Part of the new Tickle Me Extreme friends, Tickle Me Cookie Monster is every bit as charming and fun as his popular friend, T.M.X. Elmo. When you touch his belly, this plush 11-inch doll falls backwards and giggles as he rocks back and forth. He even gets back up on his own! With googly eyes and soft blue fur, this Cookie Monster doll is cute, huggable, and a great toy for young children. He comes packaged in a cardboard carrying case with a handle at the top and a cutout to poke his ticklish tummy. Cookie Monster performs best on a hard, flat surface and requires six AA batteries (included) to bring him to life. Laughter Is Contagious Each T.M.X. friend has its own unique actions. The T.M.X. Cookie Monster features silly gyrations followed by humorous phrases. This motorized doll is so soft, kids can pick it up, snuggle with it, then put it down and watch it wiggle. It only takes two tickles to send Cookie Monster into hysterical laughter and kids soon find themselves giggling along. This doll has an incredible likeness to the actual Sesame Street character. Parents can add to the fun with T.M.X. Elmo or T.M.X. Ernie, sold separately. Tickle Test During the tickle test, it became easy to see why the T.M.X. friends are in such demand. When you tickle Cookie Monster's belly, he doubles over in hysterics. The second time he is tickled, he falls over backwards, rolls from left to right, then gets back up again, saying, "That was good." The doll moves best on a hard, flat surface and struggles a little when placed on carpet. But that was the only setback discovered during the hands-on testing process. A discreet on-off switch on his foot allows you to turn the doll off, if you're in need of some quiet time. Overall, T.M.X. Cookie Monster makes a great toy for its target age range. Even adults will crack a smile as this jolly character shakes and rolls with laughter. What's in the Box Plush Cookie Monster doll, 6 AA batteries
Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-06-18 My husband loves it! Bought this for my husband because he's been wanting one for quite some time. We also have the Elmo Xtra Special Edition. (our baby is a month old, so they're still dad's toys).
These are very fun and amusing. The downfall is they eat through batteries, so a charger and some re-chargeable batteries would make a nice accompaniment gift. It does sound very much like Cookie Monster.
Also, hard to use without a large section of hard floor. my tiny apartment kitchen and bathroom floors don't quite cut it, this thing moves a lot. Rating: Date: 2008-05-22 He eats batteries My baby loves this toy....my two year thinks he is okay. I honestly hate how he keeps eating my batteries and when he eats them he eats 6 at a time......Even though Cookie is cute I am not sure he is worth the bAttery expense Rating: Date: 2008-04-05 Cookie monster giggles I bought this thing for my great-grandson's first Christmas. I knew he was too young for it, but I figured he'd grow into it. But my son, the baby's grandfather took it over instead. It is now sitting on his desk in his home office. This toy is one of those things that really makes you laugh and giggle. Oh boy, oh boy, oh boy! Buy one, you'll like it. I think it's better for grownups, than for babies anyway. Rating: Date: 2008-04-02 Bought this for my twin girls for Christmas and it was a tearfest I bought this because I thought it would be cute and so I though they would like it too but as soon as I turned it on the girls started to cry, they were scared to death of it and had nightmares that night. Later on when I went to put it away the girls started to cry again and this time it was not even turned on. Rating: Date: 2008-02-26 Worth it if under $20 I got a super deal on this around Christmas - I think it was only about $13! It was definitely worth $13. At first it made my one year old cry. I think she thought there was something wrong with Cookie. But then she got used to him and she loves him. He made my husband and I laugh like crazy the first time we tried him out, especially when he says at the end "Oh, THAT GOOD ONE!" I agree with others; he is a big battery hog. I haven't changed out the batteries yet, so he can't move around as well right now. But he does still bend over and shake a bit, and his voice is still good. So it doesn't really matter to a one-year-old! I am glad we got it, but might not be as thrilled if he had been over $20 (as he is as of this writing.) |
