Good choice for GPS
I am very happy to have the portable friction for my Garmin GPS device. It is much easier to setup the device on the dashboard than in the windshield. No marks left on the glass and I can put it in the glove compartment no issues. In addition I am able to comply with the traffic regulations that is prohibiting to mount the GPS on the windshield. Last but not least it is easier to move from car to car.

MUST GET
This is a must get if you're thinking of getting a GPS. It mounts on your dash board and has a weight to it that does not move as you're driving or making sharp turns. Becuase does not leave a ring mark on your windsheild- which can sometimes serve as an indicator to preditors looking for reasons to break into your car - if they see the ring mark, they'll assume you have a portable GPS hiding somewhere in your glove compartment or something. So it should be purchased a safety precaution. Also, if you have a car with a highly slanted windsheield like i do, with the newer honda civics, you really need to get this. Becuase of the sharp slant, i'm not able to reach to the windsheild while i'm driving. Because this allows the gps to sit on the dashboard i can easily reach it and i'm able to angle it so that my passenger can also help navigate the gps while i'm driving. Definately a very nessecary accessory - in fact, Garmin should just package it with the purchase or something.

Does exactly what it's designed to do.
This thing works great. You will need a fairly decent amount of flat-ish dash to set it on, but it really does a nice job of holding the GPS in place. A must have if you live in a state that doesn't allow suction cups on the windshield.

Very satisfied
We recently purchased the Garmin Portable Friction Dashboard Mount for our GPS because we wanted to be able to easy move the GPS either from car to car or out of sight when parked. Using the suction cup defeats the purpose of keeping it out of site, since the mount stays on the window so we decided to try this product instead. We are VERY happy with it. It holds the GPS securly and never shifts on the dashboard at all. I would definitely recommend this product to anyone.
