terrible service, good product
Buyer beware! When you order this product, be aware that it MAY not come with all the necessary parts to install... I was missing the hitch pin, the hitch pin clip, the anti-rattle strap, and the bolt for the anti-rattle clamp washer.

I would suggest you purchase a hitch lock for the product anyways, as the hitch pin doesn't protect against thieves. This product is well made, although the beads on the soldering are not optimal between the hitch step and the male hitch piece, but hey, you get what you pay for.

Finally, although the step is 36" long, I would suggest that they could make one that is 48"-60" long, to protect more of the bumper...

Great product but...
The product is great and fits nicely with all of the chrome I got on my H2 Hummer. It will interfere with the H2's towing hooks though, but again I don't use those hooks for towing purposes. I am a bit disappointed though from Amazon. I've been using Amazon for the last 7 years and they are great. But for this purchase it was supposed to be a NEW product when I bought it but apparently they sent me a used "returned" item. The product's box was all messed up when I got it and it was missing the locking hitch pin as well. Fortunately I had ordered a key locking pin as well so I didn't bother the missing pin that didn't come with the product.

2007 Toyota Rav4 Stainless Steel Hitch step
I bought this on Monday. I had it in my hands by Tuesday! That was amazing. I had just installed a new hitch on my 2007 Rav4 Limited. I looked at all the options and found I could get the Stainless Steel step for less than other sellers were selling the chrome step. The chrome and powder coated steps come with a 5 year warranty but the SS gets a lifetime warranty. I got it for $154 which is very reasonable. In my case I have a Rav4 which has the spare tire mounted on the outside of the rear hatch so it is nice that this step has three holes you can select for the hitch pin and have it stick out as far or as little as you want. It comes with a storage bag so when I mount my bike rack I can stow it in the bag and keep it in the back of my Rav.

The best thing about this is that this sturdy heavy duty step will protect your back end from morons who can't judge distance when they park, or in my case living in Boston, the morons who think it is acceptable to play bumper cars to squeeze their piece of junk car in a parking place they don't fit in. Now all they will get is a grill full of stainless steel and my car will come out of it unscathed. I highly recommend this step.

questionable quality...
So I received this as a gift and the first one I was sent had a small dent in it... possible from mishandling by UPS. The box was also badly beaten and it seems they had to tape it back together. The second I received looked fine, but when I put it on my suv i noticed that one side leaned lower than the other side... meaning that it was not parallel with the bumper. I returned it because it was an obvious defect in the product. Make sure you check yours! Apparently it's common on these bars.

Saves $$$$
I have had the black one on my Lexus RX300 for over 5 years. It has saved me from minimal bumper damage in small bumps, but yesterday it absorbed most of the collision damage when I was rear ended on a highway. The bar bent, but protected the whole rear end of the car from many thousands of dollars in damage according to the body shop. I am not driving without one in the future.
