Sure, I'm biased
I've been an Aerosmith fan for about 20 years now, and I'm probably considered a "die-hard" fan. I've also played GH1, GH2, and GH Encore on PS2, so this was my first GH game for the Xbox 360.

The included wireless controller felt like putting on an old pair of shoes. I've had Rock Band for several months now, and I'm not happy with the Fender it comes with. It's uncomfortable to play, it's buggy (the tilt function works sporadically), and I hate being tethered to my console. However, for those of you who prefer the toy Fender to the toy Les Paul, the Rock Band guitar does work in GH: Aerosmith.

The track selection for this game is excellent, as well. Of the 24 Aerosmith songs in the game, 18 are from before 1980 (which is when Aerosmith produced their best material). The rest of the game includes one track from each of the original albums produced after 1984. Many will lament the lack of more commercially successful songs lie Jaded (too short) or I Don't Want To Miss A Thing (too Diane Warren-y). I will say that I would like to see more songs from Permanent Vacation (1987) or Pump (1989), but maybe they'll produce some DLC.

A Great Follow Up
I actually enjoyed this game here are my reasons:

1. Difficulty in easier then guitar hero 3. Because of this I was able to improve my playing drastically.
2. There are very few instances of Notes being thrown up in the guitar solos. I remember in GH3 when all of a sudden a 100 notes with no coherent sense would spam the screen. This doesn't happen here.
3. Easy Achievements: By the time I had finished expert mode I had unlocked over 550 points. I barely reached over 100 in GH3.
4. Great Replay Value: This is the first game in the series that I actually want to complete because I know that I can with some work.

The only downside is that it is missing two songs I would have really loved "Jaded" and "Don't Wanna Miss A Thing" which were the two songs Aerosmith sang at the half time show.

***Also people are bashing this game for the lack of songs but they should note that this is an expansion pack of the first game and that expansion packs never contain near the same content as the original game itself.

Great!
I agree with the previous reviews that the game is not all that challenging. I typically start out on Medium and work my way up, and there are only a few songs that give me a little trouble on Medium with this game.

I'm an Aerosmith fan, so I like it because it does go through their career and has interesting interviews between venues. I agree, there could've been more songs, but I think all in all, it does its job. It's fun and it's entertaining.

I got the bundle pack and really like that we now have 2 wireless guitars so my husband and I can play this game together. That also adds a new dimension to the game when you play the whole thing in Co-Op.

Dissapointing
Well us fans had heard there was gonna be an Aerosmith Guitar Hero. As some one who's a die-hard GH fan and someone who's not very fond of Aerosmith, I was thinking "What's the point???", like you did.

While the gameplay is fun, it's also incredibly easy. The very first time I played, (like the other reviewer who gave it 2 stars) I played the whole thing on Medium without failing even one song. I might be good at GH, but that wasn't the case for GH2 and 3. On those GH2, even on Easy I couldn't beat a song without failing 2 or 3 times. GH3, that was rarely the case and on Both for medium, I sucked for 2 months. See, GH is all about CHALLENGE. I'm sure expert is pretty hard, but in this case I don't even care. Mind you this is coming from someone who sucks at about 60% of different types of video games.

Also that they're charging $[...] for 41 songs, 10 of which need to be unlocked. There's no downloadable songs from XBOX live. Geez, GH2 had 60 songs and GH3 had well over 70, why not more?

So overall, this game isn't one bit bad, and sure is fun to play despite the easy gameplay, but it's just a quick cash-in from Activision and really should be $[...], even for a game that's really an expansion pack.

Seems like they rushed it
As the first band-centered Guitar Hero game, it seems like they rushed production of Guitar Hero Aerosmith just to get it out there. It only took my husband 24 hours to beat the game on Expert, and that was in two sessions of playing.

The video interviews with the band are interesting, and it's great how you sort of play through the history of Aerosmith. The Aerosmith characters do look just like them, and Steven Tyler even performs as he does in real life. But it's just not a challenging game like the others are. I'm hoping for the next band-branded game that they'll take more time producing the game, include more songs (a lot more songs), and perhaps pick a band with more difficult guitar riffs.

If you're a die-hard Aerosmith fan, or you don't mind dropping [...] (for the game alone) or [...] (for the game with guitar) on a game that's only going to entertain you for a day or two, then you should buy it. If you're looking for a new Guitar Hero challenge, you should just wait for GHIV.
