Product Description:

Doctor, the patient is here to see you! And he's got a quite a few complaints, including a broken heart, water on the knee and butterflies in the stomach!

Use all your skill and coordination to remove the patient's "ailments" with the tweezers - without setting off the buzzer and making the patient's nose light up! When that happens, it's time to call in a specialist!

Editorial Review:

Surely countless medical careers have been launched because of this humorous game. The Operation game board features Sam the patient, lying atop a red plastic "operating table" with 12 body cavities exposed. Players perform highly skilled procedures with a pair of tweezers such as removing a broken heart or butterflies in the stomach. This kind of surgery requires a steady hand! Doctors must remove the offending body part without touching the metal lining of the cavity. Touch the metal edge, and you'll set off the buzzer and make Sam's nose light up. Then the designated Specialist steps in--for double the fee! If you're playing solo, try performing all 12 operations without getting zapped. Two AA batteries are required. Operation is for one or more players. --Elizabeth Ward

fun from your childhood!
bought this for my 1 year old son - of course, we can't play with him for years, but the grownups are having some fun - my hand isn't any more steady than when I was a child! good thing I didn't become a surgeoun!

Silly Giggles!
Get ready for a few laughs with the kids. Don't compare it to the stress you suffer over bad HMO's or the decline of civilization as we know it.

This is the stupid-funny game you played as a kid, and it's about time you had a few guffaws with no redeeming social value!!

Add an extra star if you believe that laughter is a good aerobic activity!

Disappointing changes
Part of the fun when I was the kids was the "shocking" buzzer. It has been replaced with a kinder, gentler buzzer. My kids don't the that fun and get easily frustrated cause they cant get out the body parts. It was much funner when not getting the body part out meant you got that "shocking" buzzer sound.

Lots of fun, but needs improved
This is still lots of fun. However, it needs to be made with a sturdier wire and connections. Also, it sure would be great to be able to order extra parts. Since they are so little, they do get lost. How hard would it be to include an extra set of body pieces? (Or at least make it easy to purchase them cheaply somewhere.)

Don't be fooled by bad reviews. This is a great game!
On Christmas morning, this was the favorite toy of my 5-year-old and 2-year-old. They still play with it several weeks later. Understand that they also received live frogs, but they'd rather play with this. I'm sorry to say that one of those frogs died because some neighbor kid wanted me to take it out of the cage so she could look at it. It jumped onto the heat lamp and was bleeding from it's mouth or nose. It survived another week or so but then died. We did a little funeral for it and threw it into the fireplace. I'm sorry to say my children seemed to be intrigued with the idea of throwing something into the fire more than praying for their deceased pet. To be honest, they hardly even care about those frogs, but they love this Hasbro Operation game.
