Hitachi's superior design and engineering make this a top-of-the-list choice for a framing nailer, just as hardworking as the NR83 model that preceded it, but with a few major improvements.

We like the way Hitachi's integrated both types of trigger, so there's no need to replace anything – just flip the lever on the tool down for bump or up for sequential firing. Also tool-free is the depth-of-fire adjustment: Just turn a small knob to set your depth. It's even easier than adjusting the air pressure.

This nailer has a 21-degree angled magazine and fires nails from 2 inches to 3-1/2 inches, a wider range than the old NR83 handled. Loading is much faster and easier on this gun, too, because Hitachi's redesign repositioned the loading mechanism at the rear of the magazine. A maximum of 64 plastic-strip collated full round head nails will fit in the magazine, but reloading takes a few seconds, so there's no downside to that. This is one of the most jam-free guns we've used; it just fires and fires. Should you find a way to jam it, the procedure to clear the jam is super fast and couldn't be easier.

The balance of this tool is incredible; at a relatively light 7-1/2 pounds, you'd expect to feel a little strain after using this gun for a few hours, but the ergonomics are fantastic. Hats off to Hitachi on this redesign. And of course, you'll notice immediately the difference in appearance between this gun and its predecessor. The Best Framing Nailer.
The best framing nailer I've had. It's very light, well designed, attractive and functional. Highly recommended. This nailer doesn't come with 3/8" NPT connector

Great Product
This is my first pneumatic. I bought this because it had the most solid reviews on Amazon. I bought it when it was $309 dollars at Amazon but even at that price it was still a hundred bucks less than what the local dealer was selling it for (plus tax).

Built ~300 feet of fencing, ~8000 nails and it has preformed flawlessly.

Having some indoor projects coming around and I think I will be looking for at the Hitachi brad nailer.

Great Gun but please read my review
I bought this gun for two reasons. Its the lightest and it beats everyone in price. I think $140 off Hitachis reconditioned site. I have used many framers and this one has held up with the best of them. Loads easy and is well balanced. There are three things you should know before buying. The adapter does not come with it and is not as easy as running to home depot some reason they dont carry the size you need. Lowes does though. Often times when you are framing you grab the clip to pick it up. Beware if you put your fingers towards the bottom inside of the track where the nails load there are two edges that are razor sharp. I mean really sharp I picked it up was using it and than realized blood was everywhere because I had sliced my fingers open without even realizing. I am refering to the inside tracks where the nails go in. Its not a place you normally grab but when you are framing at awkward angles and you are holding your framer between your legs while you position the wood you are nailing you sometimes grab the gun anyway you can to get it. Last for some reason this gun really hurts my ears. Its quieter but it hits a certain pitch that makes my head really hurt. You should always wear ear protection but every other framer I have used I have never wore any and I have done a lot of framing. Its gotten to the point that I can't even shoot 2 or 3 nails without wincing.

Hitachi framing nailer
Really a great nailer. It does an excellent job and I would recommend it to anyone. Amazon's price was the best I found. I do feel Hitachi should furnish a case with it.

Great nailer
I'm a homeowner, and not a professional framer. I bought this nailer for a project about a month ago. The nailer has been very easy to load and use. I'll get a nail jam about once every 1000-1500 nails. To clear, just hold the nail clip back, and the bad nail falls out. Too Easy. When Amazon suggests you get a joist hanger as an accessory after your purchase, be advised it isn't designed for this nailer. You will have to drill an additional hole in the nail magazine to use two bolts on the hanger. It works well, in spite of this. A well designed and well balanced nailer, lighter that most others.
