Amazon.com Review: This sturdy, durable wand steamer presses wrinkles out of garments, drapes, and upholstery quicker and easier than an iron, and it doesn't "shine" or scorch fabrics like an iron can. Wand steamers are popular in the fashion and entertainment fields, where wardrobe crews must keep clothing immaculate while working quickly. This 1,300-watt steamer shoots high-velocity steam jets out of a 6-inch-wide head to smooth any fabric from sheer silk to thick wool. A removable water tank provides up to 90 minutes of steaming time. The steamer heats in a minute and then rolls to work on sturdy casters. Garments and drapes can be pressed where they hang, including closets, or garments can be hung from a loop atop the steamer's sturdy aluminum rod, which screws together to rise 62 inches above the floor. For storage, the rod has a holder for the wand. Indicative of the steamer's quality is the brass fitting attaching the hose to the tank. (A wrench to tighten the fitting is included, and it has magnets for storage on the base.) Other features include an automatic safety shutoff if the steamer runs dry and a stay-cool wand handle. The steamer's plastic base measures 11 inches wide, 17 inches high, and 14-1/2 inches deep. The steamer carries a one-year warranty against defects. --Fred Brack Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-07-04 spray water bottle is easier This machine puts out a lot of steam. I gave it four stars because the hanger pole is a little too short. (and I'm not a tall person) Other than that, it is very good. However, I have gone back to my iron for pants and cotton shirts. The iron does a better job faster. I also use a fine-mist water bottle for all of my not so permanent press items. I just place them on a hanger, mist, and let them dry. It is fast, easy, cheap and much cooler. I'll probably keep my steamer to use when removing wallpaper. Rating: Date: 2008-07-02 Works Great! When I received it I tested it out on various articles of clothing and found it easy to use and cuts down on ironing time once you get the hang of it. I also found that using one of those silicon hot pads in steaming some items worked great and it also protects the hand from hot steam. After getting the touch of using the steamer, I used it to steam my dress for my daughter's wedding and it worked fabulous. It sure saved the time and money of bringing it to a cleaners to be steamed. In fact, I brought it to the hotel and did a few touch ups before the wedding. Rating: Date: 2008-07-02 LOVE THIS PRODUCT I hate to iron. I walked around like wrinkle clothes was a fashion statement. Not anymore.... The Jiffy Steamer J-2000 Residential Series Garment Steamer is so easy to use and takes seconds to take out wrinkles and I mean wrinkles. It was a great purchase and I have told many people about it. I highly recommend this product. Say goodbye to ironing.
Rating: Date: 2008-06-26 Great for dry clean clothes or fragile fabrics I love my steamer! Great for fragile fabrics and for cotton tops or quickly finishing my suites before I leave the house. Steam within minutes, no ironing board to set up. I need the steamer board now! Rating: Date: 2008-06-24 If you hate ironing, this one is for you.... I originally was going to purchase another steamer but upon reading the reviews, am I ever glad I didn't. It was more expensive and not good quality. Then I checked out this one that had SO MANY positive responses and WOW - they weren't kidding. I love this machine. I can whip through my ironing in no time. It takes no time to catch on (hang up your shirts - put the wand on the inside of the shirt, hold the bottom of the shirt as you wand down the shirt and WRINKLES DISAPPEAR LIKE MAGIC). It's that easy. I've even got my husband doing his shirts. Seems like I've usually got a hundred things going on at any given time so this was a huge TIMESAVER for me. |
