Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-06-27 Blew me away! These speakers are flat amazing. When you take into account the price, they're almost unbelievable. Amazing sound and eardrum popping volume capability. Buy these, you won't regret it.
Only downside is the on/off switch on the back of the subwoofer enclosure. Stupid design, but a minor annoyance given the amazing sound. Rating: Date: 2008-06-20 Excellent The speakers sound great. The bass is very natural and tight and not boomy. The midrange and highs are clear and natural-sounding. Also, the system can play fairly loudly with no strain. The headphone jack and auxiliary input are useful to have. The speakers feel well-made and have a pleasing heft to them that many of today's products lack. I think that the system is well worth the price. Highly recommended.
Rating: Date: 2008-06-17 Powerful speakers, excellent value This speaker set is awesome. The sound produced is excellent for both music and gaming. The mid-range output is also nice and crisp. Definitely would recommend them to anyone who wants a bangin PC sound solution without speakers all over the place. Only two minor complaints: 1) The aesthetic design is not exactly cutting edge. This is forgiven once you hear them in action. 2) The power switch is tucked at the bottom of the backside of the sub - which is normally positioned under the desk. An odd choice for certain. I end up just leaving the system on full time. Rating: Date: 2008-06-10 Ultimate in Sound Simply the best. Here are some points that may help some decide.
1. These are simply the best 2.1 speakers out there. You have to listen to them to appreciate the 'depthness, fullness, and richness' in their sound.
2. I compared them to Bose Companion III. I must say Bose sound 'hollow' and 'shallow' in front of these. These somehow give a much fuller feel to the music; which I believe is due to accurate reproduciton in lows, mids and highs. Bose seem to be good only in highs and perhaps lows, but absolutely no mids. I had an older 2.1 Cyber Acousitcs (which these replaced) which sounded pretty good to me untill now. I now realize that they had very good highs only but no mids. And yes they are far better than logitech's THX (2.1 or 5.1).
3. Pleae bear in mind that due to the surround effect of ANY 5.1, even a cheaper 5.1 will sound better. But for music and speeches, where there is no surround sound, you can't beat these 2.1
4. Price. It is a steal at this price. Bose is $100 more.
5. Looks and aesthetics are excellent - almost as good as Bose. Only it is not just that small - which was fine for me.
6. Speaker has solid iron stands and are therefore heavy and don't knowck off. These are indeed HIGH-quality speakers - sound and construction wise.
7. my next 5.1 is going to be a Klipsch - without question. I am sold on this brand now.
Rating: Date: 2008-06-09 5 years old and still amazing! I've had these now for 5 years and have not had a single problem with them. I agree with some of the other reviews that the bass is a little heavy. I recently had it midway for a movie, and all of my books fell off a shelf. I highly recommend these, or their newer replacement. I have these hooked to my AirPort, and so being able to play music wirelessly on iTunes is a plus! :) Very pleased with them. If they should break on me at some time, will definitely consider buying again. |
