It's okay.
Recently, somebody asked my girlfriend for advice on a children's computer for a one year old. Ignoring that it's stupid to buy a computer for a one year old, my girlfriend made the best suggestions she could for strictly electronic items, which were primarily those dumb little keypads that plug into your TV and a few Speak & Spells.
Ha! What my girlfriend foolishly forgot to recommend is this, or any, Lego Duplo set. While these are not electronic by any means, they're durable, accurate, and difficult to swallow; namely, this is the building block equivalent of the abacus, designed for complex math, intricate calculations, and sheer mathematical precision. No need for electricity, functional during a blackout, and able to double as a house, the Lego Duplo will teach your child plenty about addition, subtraction, multiplication, and regressive polynomials.
