Product Description: Tethered caterpiller wiggles his way through the holes on each page on the way to becoming a butterfly. Children develop coordination and motor skills as they fit the caterpiller through the holes. Measures 6.5" h. Age: 3 months - 2 years Manufacturer: Learning Curve Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-02-27 Cute & educational I purchased this book based on other reviews I read here, and I was not disappointed. My 11 month old son loves it, and I think it will be great for several years. It's very short, but it's a cute book that gives the life cycle of a caterpillar in very easy terms (he eats, then turns into a butterfly at the end).
There are many facets to this simple book. The first is short, simple text that rhymes, along with colorful pictures that are great for young babies. Caterpillar is cute, and he has a rattle that appeals to my young son.
As the baby gets older, he can manipulate the caterpillar through the shapes himself. You can use this to teach shapes (caterpillar goes through a circle, square, and triangle) to your toddler, and can talk about what caterpillars eat and their life cycles to your older toddlers.
I wish I had this book when my son was younger...he chewed up most of his board books, so cloth would have been better.
Rating: Date: 2008-02-26 Where is Caterpillar This is a fun book. The only problem that we have is that it is hard for the little one to get the caterpillar through the hole by himself. It can be come frustrating for them in the very early stages (it could test you to till you get the hang of using it while telling the story.
Rating: Date: 2008-02-05 What a neat book for church! This is a great book for anytime, but it really shines in church or other situations where silence is required. It is so cute, and perfect for babies to chew on. You'll both have fun threading the caterpillar through as you read. And it's nice because it doesn't have the crinkles or squeakers or other noise makers that a lot of other soft books do. Highly recommended! Rating: Date: 2007-05-13 Fun & Interactive
Every child will enjoy this cloth book that follows a sweet caterpillar on her journey of life and transformation. My little goddaughter counts this splendid story among her favorite choices as she helps lead/pull the caterpillar through the different pictures to reveal a beautiful butterfly in the end. Very child friendly fabric, cheery caterpillar, and butterfly with wonderfully "crunchy" sounding wings with which kids like to interact. Rating: Date: 2007-03-21 Great baby's book! My granddaughter loves this book! She has other similar types of books. They are great for chewing on without getting ruined! No one gets hurt if she throws it! Bright and cheerful colors. Also, very durable! |
