Great fun & education for my 5 year old!
This is my 5-year old daughter's favorite Leapster game! Great fun for her, and it has really improved her math abilities. The LMAX function allowing us to hook it to the TV when at home makes it better for educational interaction with us (mom & dad). Also, it's really helpful keeping her occupied in restaurants and during car rides; giving mom & dad some much needed peace (& we don't feel too bad b/c she is getting an educational benefit out of it!). Fun AND Educational
Out of the 6 games we purchased, this is definitely my 4-year old's favorite game. He got it 2 months ago for Christmas and still plays it for literally hours at a time. The great thing about most of the Leapster games is that they are fun as well as educational, and this game is one of the best in my opinon as far as teaching kids educational things while still being entertaining enough for them to keep an interest in it.
3 Levels of difficulty is a nice option, because it allows the child to get more use out of the game. Once they've mastered learning the digits and counting single digits, they can move on to double-digits and adding, subtracting, etc. Also teaches how to write the numbers which I thought was a nice bonus.
GREAT educational and FUN game, especially for children who normally lose interest in things rather quickly. Rating:

Not as much fun as Letters on the Loose
This is a great game for learning basic numbers and math. However, my daughter does not really play with it much. She says it's not as fun as Letters on the Loose. And, I agree with her. So, I am a little disappointed by that. Rating:

Good learning tool for preschoolers
I bought this game for my daughter who just turned 5 and got the L-Max for Christmas. She loves playing this game, and in addition to helping her master number recognition, this game helps her motor skills and hand/eye coordination. My daughter (who is very active) will sit quietly and play this game for long stretches at a time, allowing me to finish whatever project I'm working on. I feel good knowing she's learning and not just being babysat by technology. This was a really good purchase for my family. Rating:

Great for learning and lots of fun
My son has used this for 2 years now (appropriate from ages 4+) and has learned a TON. It's fun, educational, great music, graphics. He has learned numbers, addition, counting, etc. It's a GREAT game for the leapster! |
