Product Description: A Jimmy Buffett concert on a tropical island. Just walk down the beach for a once-in-a-lifetime intimate performance from Margaritaville's favorite son. That's what a few thousand fans got to experience at Jimmy's Caribbean shows on March 23 and 24, 2007. Now everyone else can, too. A double CD and an 82 minute DVD were recorded live at the Dune Preserve, Rendezvous Bay in Anguilla, in Bankie Banx's backyard and the site of famous Moonsplash Festivals. The CD's include 30 songs, all of your favorites, plus some special in-concert rarities like Domino College, Waiting In Vain, When Salome Plays the Drum, King of Somewhere Hot, Treat Her Like A Lady, and Distantly In Love. The DVD was recorded in High Definition and is in Dolby 5.1 Surround Sound. Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-06-21 Like Fine Wine, Buffett Improves with Age I've been listening to Buffett for over 30 years, and every time I think he can't get any better, he does. His concerts have matured a bit since "You Had to be There", but so have I and if anything they are better now than they were then. If I could only listen to one performer, it would be Jimmy Buffett. Rating: Date: 2008-06-20 new buffet live as usual - jimmy puts on a great live show - it's a party everytime out
all the favourites are here - variations in some melodies- but that keeps it fresh
if you are a fan -a 'parrothead' - buy this now ! summer time is nigh - and the music is HOT ! Rating: Date: 2008-06-13 Fly me to the islands.. He does it again.. you just want to sit by the fire with him and sing all night long. Keep it rocking Mr Margaritaville ! Rating: Date: 2008-06-12 Less talk makes this his best Live Having all of his cd's to compare this with, I found this live album much more pleasing because there was a little more editing, which meant less talk in-between the songs. The dvd is a bonus for those of us who couldn't be there. I am a second generation Parrot Head, 33 and a teacher. Rating: Date: 2008-05-23 Very good live album I really enjoy this one. The sound quality is good, there are some rare songs that you don't hear very often (e.g. Distantly in Love, Treat Her Like A Lady), and the setting creates a unique feel that's distinguishable from his other live albums. My impression is that his singing is a bit better here than on his more recent live efforts too. |
