Excellent Gaming Mouse
The G5 Laser Mouse is an excellent mouse for gaming, as well as general computing. The Ergonomic Logitech design allows for hours of gaming with very little discomfort. The weights add stability and help to create a solid and comfortable feeling controller.

The ability to quickly flip between in game sensitivity levels (DPI levels) has great benefits. The settings allow the mouse to be very quick to react to small movements or if desired require you to move the mouse considerable distance to accomplish on screen movement. Both modes are valuable depending on the type of game or application being executed. The non-gamers in your family will also enjoy the eronomics and ability to switch sensitivity easiliy when doing homework etc.

Bottom line - simple, comfortable, and effective.

Quality Mouse
This is the best mouse I've owned. Does everything I need and I like the ability to make adjustments. Very smooth.

Great mouse! Very accurate and compatible with any platform
I bought this for my Dell Dimension 5150 with FreeBSD 7.0 installed. Once it's plugged in, the FreeBSD(Unix) os recognized it in no time! The speed adjustment button works well, too. The performance is great! I'm pretty much sure than it will work great on any platform.

My last Logitech MX510 worked for 4 years without any problem. I think this one will be good for at least 3 years.

BEST mouse i have ever used
This is the mouse of the hour. being a hardcore PC gamer, a good mouse is very important. and the logitech G5 is really up for the task, with customizable weights, on the fly sensitivity changing (no software required), 5 button, 2 axis wheel, and great touch and feel makes this the ultimate gaming mouse out there. although the price tag is a little to high, but its nothing you will regret with playing a call of duty 4 online.

Great performance but dreadful surface
Before I ordered this mouse, I read a review about its bad surface. I did not want to believe it and just bought the item. After two days, I decided that I cannot work with it. Anytime I touched it, I got goosebumps.

This is sad because technically this mouse is great. The accuracy of the laser sensor is amazing. And the possibility to change the weight is a great feature. However, if you are somewhat sensitive to weird surfaces (I thought I was not at all), better choose a different mouse or try it out at a local retailer.
I sent the G5 back to the seller and bought the Logitech MX Revolution, which so far is really a great product.
