Description:

She's captured millions of hearts and been adored by every generation -- now Madeline stars in her first animated feature ever! Inspired by the beloved classic books that introduced us to a dozen delightful girls who live in an old house in Paris covered with vines, MADELINE -- LOST IN PARIS is full of spirited fun and five "fantastique" new songs. When a long-lost uncle from Vienna pays a surprise visit, Madeline's dreams of family life seem wonderfully fulfilled -- until she finds herself in the middle of an unfortunate scheme. Madeline then must call upon all of her courage and cleverness to foil an evil plot to take her from the only family she's ever known. Join Madeline, Miss Clavel, Pepito, 11 school friends, and her ever-so-smart dog, Genevieve, in a thrilling Paris adventure you won't want to miss, where everyone learns the true meaning of family!

Amazon.com:

This 75-minute animated feature is a bright new adventure of Ludwig Bemelmans's French heroine, a much better direction than the ho-hum 1998 live-action film. The makers of the pleasant 30-minute Madeline animated videos--including ace narrator Christopher Plummer--create a rich enough story for this longer video. A man (voiced by Jason Alexander) appears at the French school for girls announcing that he is Madeline's long-lost uncle. First overjoyed that she has family, Madeline confronts her emotions in leaving her friends and Miss Clavel. But something is not right, and Madeline is soon lost in the big city with her trusty friends in pursuit. Of course, all will end well, and usually in rhyme, when it comes to Madeline. A fresh dose of new songs makes this Madeline tale--the first released by Disney--a real keeper. Ages 2 and up. --Doug Thomas

EXALENT MOVIE!!!!!!!!!!!
This is A great movie! Reading all the bad reviews on this page just makes me mad, I think this Movie is exallent! The Story is so loving and sweet, and the ending when Madeline opens up a new school for the other girls in the lace factory is my favorite part. I also like all the naghty, funny and parts with the girls running away to find madeline, and pepieto saving her byswinging his shrunken head toy down in the basment with the fishing pole!
Also this movie is a lot like "Annie" with Madeline wanting her real family but then after going thogh a whole lot, desides that she does have a family after all, also with her and the other girls being forsed to work, and Madeline trying to run away. Fiffi reminds me of "Molly" in Annie, too!
I accually liked how Madeline was "tricked" by a man pretending to be her uncle (Another "Annie" simmilaraty) and how a girl would get her hair cut off to make lace if she diddent work, (It almoast happend to madeline, and did happen to Fiffi, already) I accually thoght it was funny, it woulden't be in real life, but a lot of movies "Annie, Matilda, and the live action "Madeline" movie also contain matirial that is funny in movies, but not in real life. This movie is my current favorite, ( even if I am a little old, 17and a half, to be exact) I have been renting it from the lirary for a while now, and plan on owning it soon! Trusy me,this is the best Madeline movie yet!!!!!

You can always count on your friends!
This is a movie about true friendship and courage. Madeline is one my child's favorite characters and enjoys watching the action packed and clever story of our heroine's adventure in Paris.

A Delightful Classic
I am 11 years old. This was a wonderful movie. Madeline gets kidnaped by her "uncle", but it teaches children to be wary around strangers. She goes to a lace-making sweat shop. Madeline befriends a young girl who has been there longer and has become ill. The villains eventually get arrested, Madeline is reunited with her friends, and the other children get a better home.
I enjoyed this movie. Some parts are somewhat dark, however there is no nudity (when the villain's pants are split, nothing is shown), no foul language, and it leaves a touching message.

Very inappropriate for young children
My two daughter, ages 6 and 4, are big fans of the Madeline books. I was extremely surprised at the content of this movie - Madeline is basically kidnapped so she can be forced to work in a dark basement making lace while the kidnappers get her inheritance, she and the other girls in the lace factory are threatened repeatedly that they will "get all their hair cut off" as Madame La Croc shoves huge scissors at them, Madeline is thrown in a dungeon, and one young girl in the factory is very sick but isn't allowed medicine or rest. While I realize Disney movies often have disturbing themes (parents die, dragons, monsters, villians, etc), this movie seems especially disturbing because it shows real violence against the children in the movie. At one point La Crock chases Madeline and cuts off a chunk of her hair. Another girl already has had her hair cut off. There was nothing cute or redeeming about this movie. I would definately urge parents to view it before showing it to their children.

Inappropriate for young children
As a mother of 4 small kids, Trust me, this is inappropriate for young kids. The thems are disturbing and too much for young children.
