Bad Ice Cubes? Get this
My Ice Cube make was having major problems. Ice Cubes were hollow and Ice was sticking on the White Prongs that pop the cubes out. I called Amana and they were no help so I figured that the Cube maker was not getting enough water flow.
I replaced with this filter and now the Ice Cube maker is like new and the water shoots out of the dispenser like crazy. What used to take 25-30 seconds to fill a glass of water now takes 3-5 seconds.
So if you are having Ice Cube issues or poor water flow buy this.
It's a little expensive for a water filter but it's worth it.
Oh and the water tastes good too. Rating:

There's not much choice out there for this type of filter. Everyone on the net seems to be selling the exact same one. This filter works perfectly and lasts for about 6 months before it clogs up. My fridge gets heavy usage so 6 months is acceptable. Rating:

Great tasting water
I purchased this filter on-line. The price seemed right. The water tastes great after the filter was installed. The water flows faster and tastes so fresh. I guess I should change my filter more often. Rating:

Whirlpool replacement filter
This is a very expensive item for what you get, and it certainly doesn't last as long as they say it does. The taste of your water coming through this filter is great for the first month or so, but then the quality drops noticeably quick.
I think the price of this item is unfairly high, but once you buy a refrigerator that needs them, you're stuck. You either buy the filter or put up with nasty tasting water from your refrigerator spigot.
A good rule of thumb, if you're buying one filter, better buy two, because you'll need a new one quicker than you think. |
