Amazon.com Product Description: | | These sturdy blocks can be stacked high for endless combinations. | This 40-piece set takes the blah out of blocks, especially for kids who create best with lots of pieces, lots of color, and lots of space. A staple item in many preschools, this set can spark endless imaginative play as children build large, life-size structures. Kids will find plenty of ways to construct forts, bridges, walls, chairs, and more with the easy to assemble pieces. Three different size blocks offer a strong building foundation as well as a starting point for kids to conceptualize math (one large red block is the same size as two medium blue blocks or four small yellow blocks, adding blocks, counting blocks, etc.). The blocks also help develop large motor skills and teamwork. Made from heavy grade cardboard, these blocks are lightweight enough for small architects to lift and connect, but strong enough to support those same builders standing or sitting on them. Kids with a knack for construction and creative play will be enraptured by these bright red, yellow, and blue blocks for hours. The 40-piece set is made up of eight large red blocks (12" x 6" x 3"), eight medium blue blocks (6" x 6" x 3"), and 24 small yellow blocks (6" x 3" x 3"). Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-05-24 Sturdy and FUN! Perfect for your toddler. I was searching for some of these large, cardboard blocks for my 20-month-old. I chose the Melissa & Doug because I have been impressed with their other toys. These blocks are VERY sturdy. You wouldn't think of cardboard blocks as being sturdy, but these definitely are. My 30 pound "little" one stands on them to look out our window and they don't even get crushed. Loves to stack them, too! Definitely a keeper. Rating: Date: 2008-05-03 What Fun! I bought these for my daughter & then as gifts for several friends' kids. We love these blocks! A little daunting when you 1st start putting them together, but they go pretty fast when you the hang of it. And they're very sturdy! My daughter stands on them without a problem! She loves for her daddy to build a tall tower so she can run through it & crash it down around her! Rating: Date: 2008-04-20 Great, low maintenance toy for kids My niece and nephew fought over their set of blocks so I bought them another. They have used it for a few years and have not outgrown building things and of course, knocking them over after. Lots of fun. Rating: Date: 2008-02-20 Great toy! These are very sturdy blocks and have endless possibilities for imaginative play. I was very pleased with the quality of the product. Rating: Date: 2008-01-18 Just what I was looking for I purchased these blocks for my 3 year old nephew. When he first opened the box, he wasn't sure what they were as they come unassembled. But, as we starting creating them, he became more and more excited to build with them. He did not ask to open other Christmas presents after he began playing with these blocks. Based on other reviews, I considered buying extra red blocks. I am glad I did not as my nephew preferred the blue.
Assembly: With a team of four, it took 15 minutes to assemble all the blocks. Blocks are sturdy if assembled correctly. Note, fold all creases before trying to put together. That made the task easier and the finished product more sturdy. |
