Other emergencies might include Amber alerts, explosions, fires, or hazardous chemical spills. The radio uses the supplied AC power adapter or 3 AA backup batteries (not included). Batteries should give you approximately 24 hours of continuous operation; the clock will run for at least 10 days on batteries when the monitor is turned off (using the monitor on/off control). The Midland WR-100C Weather / All Hazards / Civil Emergency Alert Monitor with S.A.M.E. is a great product! We had another brand and it did not perform as well as this one does. It gives us the right alerts and the voice that announces the alert is very clear. There is no static in this one at all. It was well worth the money! I would recommend this product to anyone who is concerned about weather or any other emergency alerts. Rating: Date: 2008-07-07 Midland WR-100C Weather Radio This radio has sensitivity, a loud warning tone and programmed with the proper county codes, only responds to warnings in your area. I am pleased with the performance. Rating: Date: 2008-07-03 Good Value for the Money This weather radio was easy to set up. It's also easy to operate and customizable to your preferences. It has many useful functions and few that are extraneous. I'd say it's one of the best on the market for the money. Rating: Date: 2008-06-30 NOAA WEATHER RADIO We received our NOAA weather and emergency radio one day before Iowa entered the worst month of tornadoes, severe thunderstorms, and flash flooding in the history of the state. Believe me, we were grateful to have it keeping track of each emergency as it arose! We recommend it to everyone - even if they don't live in Iowa. Rating: Date: 2008-06-30 Good Weather Radio Good little radio for the money. Battery backup is nice so you can take it to the basement with you. Picking your county is helpful so you don't have to wake up for every storm going through the state. Its still a little annoying for it to go off in the middle of the night for a thunderstorm watch, but better safe than sorry. |
