Product Description:

A 3-disc Deluxe Edition of Air's seminal 1998 debut album "Moon Safari", packaged in a case bound book DVD size. Second audio disc features rarities, remixes (Beck, Moog Cookbook) and key songs from radio sessions recorded during 1998. DVD component is the hour-long Mike Mills documentary "Eating, Sleeping Waiting and Playing" filmed in New York, London and Paris during Air's first tour.

Amazon.com:

French duo Air's debut album is a superlatively happy collection of experimental disco-mood sound nestled between ambient soundscape and breathy pop. It's jazzy and melodic, and mostly laid-back, but not excessively so. There are a few shake-it, shake-it numbers, too, like the absurdly daft hit "Sexy Boy." It's snap your fingers and hang out (while reading) music or dance around sexy-slow with your mate music. It's also the perfect music to do your ironing or some other chore to; it's hypnotizing wallpaper music. It slips in and out of your consciousness, forcing you to move around with a relaxed smile before you even realize it. Oh, and contrary to sampler fashion, Nicolas Godin and Jean Benoit Dunckel played the instruments themselves. Bravo. --Mike McGonigal

Pleasant but Canned--Mix is Off
Waited years before I finally bought this and now I remember why. "All I Need" and "Femme d'Argent" are delightful summer-day, mellow, fluffy songs. Except for those, though, this is elevator/shopping mall/quaalude music, especially the last 4 VERY SLOW songs, omg, zzzzzzz....

Moreover, the mix is strangely harsh and metallic for this type of music; the treble seems excessive, making the keyboards and effects almost painfully sharp. It's tolerable on an Ipod with the right EQ setting, but on a home stereo it's shrill even with bass turned up and treble turned down. This aggravates what would be a minor annoyance: the many unnecessary, sustained high synth tones and even hisses in the background. These would be subliminal if the mix were right. But they are brought forward, and become noticeable flaws.

My advice: download "Femme d'Argent" and "All I Need" as MP3s. Save your CD money for a disc with more good tracks on it.

One of the G.O.A.T.s
As I write this, I am listening to the original LP on Source, made in france. I bought it used shortly after it came out, it was a little scratched, but the vibe that immediately came through on "La Femme D'Argent" blew me away. Totally captivated I played it at least twice before letting the LP go through. In fact Side A (first four tracks) is a musical masterpiece that effortlessly captures the best elements of funk, electronic-downtempo, avant-garde and pop! This was an instant classic that has not diminished, only grown stronger with the passage of time. BTW G.O.A.T. stands for "Greatest Of All Time".

Great if you don't already have the DVD or singles
There doesn't appear to be any difference in mastering between the old release and this one. The DVD is exactly the same as the old one, too. I was kind of hoping for some new videos to be included but it's just a re-release. The only "new stuff" you'll be getting are the live and unreleased songs on Disc 2.

Apart from all that, it's nice to have if you're a completest.

A MUST HAVE FOR AIR FANS!!!
If you are an Air fan like I am and have followed them consistently over the years and have seen them several times live... then I'm sure you already have purchased this item. If you are a new fan you can get just the actual record. If you know Air today it is because of Moon Safari... That's all!

Five stars
This band is simply great. It's got lot of interesting sounds that will take you on to different feelings as you listen to them. I could listen to the track "All I Need" all day long. The whole CD is soothing in a happy kind of way, kinda makes you feel "well, life is pretty darn good after all"
