Product Description: These tongs are handy for flipping a chicken breast, for turning shrimp in the pan, pulling an open-faced tuna melt sandwich out from under the broiler and so on. Thanks to their nylon ends they can be safely used with non-stick cookware! Amazon.com Review: Not only do these 9-inch tongs cushion hands and provide thumb rests, which are useful when gripping heavy objects, but the nylon heads won’t scratch nonstick cookware. Doubling as a hang loop, a tab on the bottom pulls out to lock the stainless-steel tongs shut, allowing them to slip easily into a drawer. The nylon heads are heat-resistant to 400 degrees Fahrenheit, and the tongs are dishwasher-safe. --Ann Bieri Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-06-29 Kitchen essential I would have five of these in my kitchen if I could, I'm always finding a use for them. I also love to give them as wedding gifts because they are so useful and not many people have them. Recently the husband of a couple I gave them to thanked and told me he uses them all the time!
I'm pretty sure that Cook's Illustrated highly recommended Oxo Good Grips tongs - I certainly love them. Rating: Date: 2008-06-25 Great kitchen tool I use this quite often with my cooking. Great for many uses; turning meat, veggies as they brown, lifting out of pan to serve, barbecuing, etc.
It protects my nonstick pans from being scratched. Quite simply, I love these tongs! The 12-inch length is better than the 8-inch too. Rating: Date: 2008-06-21 great size tongs Nice grip, nice size. Great for tossing instead of using those huge bbq size tongs. Also stores nicely in kitchen drawer full of "stuff". Locking works well too. Rating: Date: 2008-06-20 Love these tongs These are great tongs. I have them in the nylon tips and metal. They actually grip food great and the locking feature is a definite plus. I use the nylon on my nonstick pans and the metal for grilling. I have both sizes. Other brands I have bought always have problems with gripping the food and the locking feature. I endorse these. Rating: Date: 2008-04-30 It is no Secret, This Tong is the best! The tongs are the most-used cooking utensil when grilling, as they provide a way to move, rotate and turn the food with delicate precision. This utensil works! I keep some of my tongs in the drawer and two on the oven handle where the are easily accessible. When it is serving time these go with the veggies, the salad, and the main course, of course. I have enough on hand to both cook with and serve with. When I cook they are an extension of my arm. For serving, every one serves themselves!, Family style. No doubt the most useful tool in the kitchen. |
