Great headlamp. Used it a lot this turkey season to set up the blind and get organized in the blind. Lightweight, bright, with very good battery life. I also have a Streamlight headlamp, and I am a devoted Streamlight fan, but this Petzl beats the Streamlight hands down. If you hunt, and need a headlamp, buy this one. Rating: Date: 2008-06-16 Surprisingly Good! This was a bit of an impulse buy while I was at Cabella's, with no previous knowledge of Petzl or reading any reviews. On the way home I thought, "I can't believe I just spent fifty bucks on a flashlight. I'm sure I'll be disappointed." Boy was I wrong! This thing is awesome. Example: After two days of using it camping and thinking it was great I tried what I thought was the clear "protective" lens, realized it was a wide-angle diffuser lens(!), and the flashlight I didn't think could be any better increased its usefulness 10x. I love the ratcheting up/down aim feature, the super bright light via the momentary "power" button, the battery level indicator, comfortable head band, light weight, extra lens holder, etc. In fact, the whole unit works so well all around I use it almost everywhere I would have used a hand held flashlight previously - working on my car/bike, late night cookouts, hooking up cables on the back of the TV, etc. Bright, WHITE (not blue), long lasting light in a durable, easy to use package. If you're reading this, and still wondering about a $50 flashlight, just buy it. You won't regret it. Rating: Date: 2008-05-14 Good buy! First opinions of this product were good. High quality. The head strap is nice and wide. Very comfortable. Good elasticity. The beam is bright and sharp. Well focused. And the boost feature does come in very handy when something is just out of range with the normal high setting. The extra lenses are nice, only had a single separate red l.e.d. with my old head lamp. With this one I like having selectable brightness settings, even when using different colors. The battery indicator is a welcome feature. No more heading out on the trail with dead batteries. All in all, I'm extremely happy with my pick. I will be buying another Petzl in the future! Rating: Date: 2008-03-22 Bright and efficient light
These new lights are brighter and don't eat the batteries as fast as the older models, thanks to the varying power output levels. The lense covers, difusers are simple to change. The light beam is more on the line of a spotlight until a difuser is installed. I had a problem with my old Tactikka when tilting the unit while on my head the battery compartment would open. Not the case with this light. This a truely great light for the size. Rating: Date: 2008-02-26 Petzl the petzl is very versatile piece of equipment that you can implement with any work environments that makes you work with low visibility environment. Everything about the product was just as described. |
