Works perfectly
This cable works perfectly for me. I use it to download video from my Sony mini-DV camcorder to my computer. I've had no issues.

This IEEE "Firewire" specification 4-pin to 6-pin cable allows you to connect your camcorders equipped with Firewire ports to your PC or laptop. Well Spent $4
I purchased the item from VORTEX CABLE although it doesn't have the gold connectors like the picture you couldn't tell the difference in performance if it had them. Using it with a JVC Mini DV and connectors fit fine both sides. You will pay about $36.99 for the same thing at Best Buy.

Works, but different than picture
I got this cable because my new laptop only has a 4-pin FireWire jack, while my backup hard drives have 6-pins. The cable was shipped quickly and works perfectly. But it is plain black, rather than the see-through silver/white pictured. Not that it makes a difference, but it was a little weird. Overall, a great product and great service.
