It's just perfect for the professional upholsterer and the home do-it-yourselfer, too. Because it's so compact, it fits nicely into tight spaces, and its super light weight means no fatigue, even in the awkward positions upholsters can find themselves. We didn't experience any misfires or jams, but if they happen, just release the magazine and the driver blade guide retracts. We like the convenience of the end-load magazine, and because the staples are so thin, you get an impressive 185 loaded in the magazine, which of course means fewer stops to reload. And just like Porter-Cable's more ambitious nailers, this one's got a directional port to keep the exhaust off you and your workpiece. While it's in name an upholstery stapler, we think you'll find a lot more uses for this little worker.--Kris Jensen-Van Heste Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-05-16 Handy Nice handy tool to have around the house for certain projects. Have used it for carpeting stairs, doing a small hardwood floor job. Rating: Date: 2007-12-29 Essential Upholstery Tool I couldn't do upholstery projects without this tool. It's light, small, and very simple to use. And the price is right. Rating: Date: 2007-12-03 Doing serious upholstery? This is the tool you need. Great tool at a reasonable price. I bought it because of the Porter Cable brand, and was not disappointed. Shoots various length staples, depending on your needs. Easy to set up, load and use. Compact nose allows use in narrow areas. Low air usage. No jams. Very satisfied. Rating: Date: 2007-11-01 Good so far. I just got this not more then a couple weeks ago (today being 11/1/07), so I don't have much to write. I have had good luck so far with this one. I read in another persons review that the only complaint they had was that it didn't come with it's own case. That would be a problem for sake of keeping dust out of the nipple and all. I resolved this by keeping it in its box for the time being. Since I like making things, I'm making a set of drawers for this and my other nail guns. I'll write more later if I come up with any complaints. Rating: Date: 2007-10-18 had this unit for 2 years and it has been flawless. We use this unit for production insulating and it works great...no misfires...fast as you can pull the trigger runs, and really just flawless. We love the tool...yes I know its not its intended use...but some of the best ideas started out with someone thinking out side the box...after going through a stapler a month on the job sites I decided to try this unit...not a lot of moving parts...and air tool...and it takes a beating....to those looking for a case...I can understand...but really this is the only tool outside of my roofing gun without a case and i have to say...it doesn't need one...no issues except a scratch or two and she is Timex .... |
