Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-06-29 Almost perfect Superfast uploading with new real fast compact flash cards. Only problem is card has to be recessed to far into the front slot. Unlike in the picture where 1/2in of card is sticking out. Makes it difficult to seat properly, and harder to remove. A simple 1/16 to 1/8th of an inch left outside of the slot would have made it work much easier. Rating: Date: 2008-05-04 Works fine, not as fast as I thought it would be for a Firewire 800 This product works fine, it has a nice footprint. It is fast, but not as fast as I expected for a Firewire 800. Rating: Date: 2008-04-06 Pretty Darn Fast This card reader is pretty darn fast. It is important to use cards that are also fast in order to benifit from the fast download speeds. The button is a litte "cheap" feeling but it does work well without any problems. Rating: Date: 2007-08-19 Piece of junk The reader is fast and should be as it's a Firewire 800 device. It's also expensive, and flawed. I didn't like the quality of the device, the removal button (plunger) seemed sticky, and felt like it was designed with poor tolerances. Now, after using it probbly 20 times, my card is stuck inside, and the plunger is stuck inside too. This means there is now way to get my card out. There is no way to open the device. I hesitate to contact Lexar support because they are typically prone to sending stock email replies which only partially answer one's query. I'm slowly growing dissatisfied with Lexar in general, having a good card stuck inside of an expensive reader is just on more problem that shouldn't be. Rating: Date: 2007-07-25 Absolute screamer Why did I wait so long to get a FW800 card reader? This reader is fast, on the order of 10x faster than a USB 2.0 reader. This reader is also the best built one I've used. |
