Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-07-06 simple toaster A simple toaster. No frills.
Yes I agree with the previous reviews.. It gets really hot. Last week at walmart i just read about a safety recall for a similar toaster (Not sure if it's the same model but it was Procter silex)..So check that.
Rating: Date: 2008-06-05 Proctor Silex 22605 Toaster This is a simple and efficient toaster with no fancy features and does the job of toasting bread or bagels well. the price is reasonable. Rating: Date: 2008-05-27 HEY, I WOULD BUY IT AGAIN, REALLY LIKE IT Was searching for a white toaster (white is the ''theme'' of my kitchen...peaceful) and could not find one at any local retail stores. Decided to try amazon and selected this no-frills white toaster by Proctor-Silex (model 22605). It's just outstanding, esp. for the price. The size is comfortingly ergonomic and pleasant to the eye, it's easy to handle (when not in use, I keep it in a cabinet), easy to shake crumbs out of and if you are only toasting, say, 2 slices of bread (and yes, it will accommodate bagels), it doesn't get too hot on the outside. But I am not addressing the main point of a toaster: to toast. Yes, it even manages to do that function very well. The dial is not numbered but has oval impressions you can select. Usually, I use the 3rd position impression. Very pleased because the bread comes out ''just right'' equally on each side, to me it is toasted not only in taste but also in appearance. A great value. Used to buy all the ''bells and whistles'' but as time goes on, I go for the best quality for the main function. Surprised at how often that method leads to great results. Well, in my opinion, you can't go wrong with this selection. I guess the only drawback would be if you did not want for whatever reason the color white.
Rating: Date: 2008-04-29 It's good Serves the purpose for me. I just needed a toaster that could toast my bread well, and it seems to do that. Only sometimes, I need to re-toast twice, but maybe it's the bread I use? Dunno. Rating: Date: 2008-04-25 can't pop up toast before it's done Beware! Once you've selected the "shade" of how you want the toast, and depress the lever, the only way you can get it to stop earlier is to unplug it!! I hate that aspect. I keep my bread in the freezer, so it takes longer to toast. The first time I used it, I set it for too dark. The toast started burning. I tried pushing up on the lever like you would to most toasters, but nada! I had to unplug it to make it stop. Very poor design. Other than that, I like it. It's not only wide enough for bagels, but long enough for Branola or Orowheat bread, which not all
toasters are. I plug this into a surge surpressor now, so if it needs to come out early, I trip the surpressor, and the toast pops up. |
