This one is plastic, but the principle is the same: To stay fresh, bread needs air--but not too much. Vents in this keeper allow proper circulation. The plastic slicing guide makes uniform slicing easy--starting at about a half-inch in thickness. The guide, however, accommodates a loaf only 5 inches wide, 1-1/4 inches narrower than the keeper accommodates. Ideal for Home-Baking. . .a MUST HAVE!
I just LOVE this! It makes it so much easier for slicing bread and you can easily adjust your bread & eye it so that you can get thinner slices then the actual slicing guide provides. Because of gas prices & food prices. . .I make our everyday bread now to help save on money(and it is soooo much healthier for you and your family) and this item provides the storage and slicing guide I needed to be able to do that! Underwhelmed
I have had my bread keeper and cutting guide for approx. 2 weeks. The bread keeper and cutting guide have a nice clean appearance. Its functionality leaves much to be desired. The keeper is large and sometimes awkward to handle. I much prefer a used bread wrapper. The slicing guide is set for slices that are to thin. I find some of my breads falling apart after slicing.
I no longer use the keeper/slicing guide. I have cleaned it up and will be offering it to some lucky person at my next garage sale.

Does exactly what it promises
Keeps my bread machine loaves fresh for a good long time, which saves me time and money as I don't have to bake so often. I like being able to see at a glance how much bread I have left. I don't need a slicing guide so I removed it. Easy to wash out, and it doesn't take much counter space. For the price you really can't go wrong.

Makes decent keeper, but guide is marginal
If you are looking for more of a bread cutting knife guide, don't buy this product. But otherwise, the plastic case keeps the bread adaquately. |
