Product Description: Rummikub is played with a set of 106 elegant tiles that are as durable as they are easy to handle. Like Rummy, players build melds of run of the same colors - Red 7, Red 8 and Red 9 - or sets of the same numbers - Blue 8, Red 8 and Black 8. If you're looking for a fast action game where the outcome is undecided until the last play and has a never-ending variety of strategies and play situations, you'll love Rummikub! For 2 to 4 players. Game includes: 106 engraved plastic tiles, 4 sturdy two-tier racks, 8 rack holders, and instructions. Editorial Review: It's hard to find family games that are fun and challenging for both kids and adults, but Rummikub fills the bill on all counts. The rules are simple, the game is varied, and the fun is free for everyone! This version of Rummikub has 106 plastic tiles with numbers in different colors and four dark-blue plastic tile racks to hold the tiles during play. The object is similar to rummy card games, combining your tiles in runs (consecutive numbers in the same color) or sets (groups of the same number). The game rolls along at a fast clip, with wild-card joker tiles adding a bit of luck to the strategy needed to win. Get this game out the next time the power goes off and show the kids some old-fashioned fun. --Marcie Bovetz Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-06-28 great fun Friends introduced me to this great game in Petersburg Alaska during the Little Norway Festival. At night we would pull it out and challenge each other to a new fast round of playing. Their rustic cabin became a room full of laughter as we played around the cast iron stove. The more you play it, the better you become. You start to see moves that can be made by moving things around. It keeps the brain sharp. Enjoy. Rating: Date: 2008-02-15 Lots of fun My family loves playing this game. It's great even for smaller children. We put all the tiles in a big ziploc bag so we don't lose any, makes it easy to transport to friends' houses. I highly recommend it for a good game night at home. Rating: Date: 2008-01-18 Good brain exercise Rummikub is a durable plastic tile game that is fun but also good training for the brain. You can play with just two people or several people. The rules are similar to rummy plus you have to be able to visualize number combinations and color combinations as well as how to play certain tiles to gain points. At first, I didn't think much of the game until I played with a friend who has been playing for years. To watch her rearrange 8,9,10 tiles at a time in order to play her tiles was truly amazing.
The product design is simple, which I like, and easy to setup and put away. The one slight drawback are the colors - the black and blue are hard to tell apart. If you don't have youthful vision make sure you play with good lighting. Not a big problem but it would be nice to have more distinct colors. Overall a very enjoyable game. Rating: Date: 2008-01-13 Lots of Fun and Strategy This game keeps you thinking and strategizing. It keeps you on your toes and if you play with the time limit rules, it makes it a very fast paced game. You can play with 2 to 4 people, and it's challenging, regardless of your player ratio. Rating: Date: 2008-01-07 Rummikub is great! My 8-year old daughter and I first played this game with an adult friend, and my daughter loved it and wanted it for Christmas. It is fun for both kids and adults--and there's nothing better than that! |
