SanDisk 8 gig USB Flash Drive
Worked seamlessly on Mac 10.4.9 and Acer laptop with Vista; however on my Dell desktop computer the USB plug was too short and would not plug completely into the USB port, therefore it would not work (unfortunately that was the computer I needed it to work in!). So unless you need to use it on a Dell desktop, Amazon had it at the best price I could find! Rating:

The U3 spam software is insanely annoying.
The stick is too wide and crowds out other devices next to it trying to connect via USB.

I have never used this kind or gadget before. It is right on the price and very easy to use. Reading Consumer reviews, it is important to have a cover and this one does.Besides, the USB connector is retractable, so I guess it adds a second layer of protection.
It's extremely small and portable. I had to change the hard drive of my computer so I needed a lot of memory to store all of my data and didn't wanted to spend too much for an external drive (I don't think I would use that too often and it takes a lot more space). It's large capacity allowed me to do this at a much lower price, plus the convenience of being so small.
When I transferred my data back into my new hard drive all the files I've checked so far were not corrupted.
I cannot compare this one to other flash drives for this is my first one, but I'm really satisfied. The price was the lowest I could find for this capacity, the size was the smallest and the capacity was really very high.
It took about 30 minutes to copy almost 8 GB, but as I said, I cannot compare with other flash drives, so I cannot say if this is slow or not. Rating:

This is the second cruzr micro I've bought. The transfer speeds are reasonable, and once you've removed the U3 software, it works exactly as you would expect a USB drive to. I like the retractable connector, as I could never keep up with the caps of previous thumb drives I've owned. Rating:

staples was selling it for half the price, the day after i purchased it from amazon. amazon didn't do a price match even though I usually buy most of the stuff from them :-) |
