Works well....Almost too well!
I finally bought this light after being unable to track down the exact source of the urine odor in our upper hallway. It works very well...almost too well. I was horrified to see the extent to which our dog had soiled the carpet. Now that I can see exactly where he went I can target those specific areas as opposed to trying to treat the entire hall. I highly recommend this light to anyone who has a dog. Rating:

Dim Light and Cheap Flimsy Design.
It is as if this were designed so it would be broken. Flimsy design awkward to hold and use without a grip or handle or even a safety tether to hang on to. You have to be very careful not to drop the unit as there is no comfortable place to place your hands as you do not want to touch the long bulb. My bulb was not very bright perhaps it was engineered that way :). It takes 8AA batteries and although you can use an AC adapter, no AC adapter was supplied. This product is overpriced, I would expect to pay about $9 for something like this. I did see stains, so it does seem to work. Rating:

Wow. That's gross!
Yes, the light is a battery hog (8 AA). Oh well. But the thing works great! As a warning, you should first by prepared to see "biologicals" everywhere. Little white flecks and drips and splatters show up in shocking places. I finally figured out that any repaired areas of walls (spackle) that haven't been painted yet will light up as well. We bought it for cleaning up after our congested cat. Yuck! Then we took it into the bathroom and did a before & after cleaning. Wow! Rating:

finding cat pee in the middle of the night
the light worked great for finding all the places that my cat had sprayed. it works so well that it picks up other spots that have been cleaned previously so you have to figure out which is which but after that it works quite well. it's a product that you really don't want to use but it really showed all the places that my cat had marked in the house. I'm sure glad my owner found this ultraviolet urine detector. This light worked really great on detecting the urine in our carpet. The light shows a large enough area. If you have never used one before make sure the area/room is dark for the urine spots to show up. I highly recomend this ultraviolet urine detector for any pet or child/adult. |
