No workshop or tool box is complete without at least one dependable and powerful cordless drill/driver. Skil's 2887-05, 3/8-inch keyless chuck drill/driver has a two-speed gear box that allows the user to shift from high speed drilling to high torque for driving screws or bolts. The gear change lever is located on top of the tool housing above the two-finger variable speed trigger. The forward/reverse switch on this drill is located just above the trigger so that you can switch direction without changing your grip, and there is a forward/reverse indicator light on top of the housing. There is a built-in bit storage compartment on top of the housing. Especially handy is the built-in bit index No more guessing at which bit is needed for which screw. Simply place a screw in the index and you'll find the bit size you will need. The 2887-05 also comes with a removable side handle for added two-fisted leverage when drilling or driving on high torque.

The drill/driver is powered by an 18-volt Ni-Cad battery which gives the user superior power and extended battery life. The battery slides easily onto the bottom of the tool giving the drill/driver optimum balance. Included with the 2587-05 is an extra battery, a one-hour charger and carrying case. --C. Super Tool For Do-It-Yourselfer
When I first read other reviews before getting the Skil 2887-05, I was inclined to get a "top-of-the-line" model and would have subsequently spent a lot more. But I was favorably influenced by the reviews on this drill and decided it matched my around-the-house, light to medium workload needs. My choice was correct to get this drill. It is proving very easy to use with many excellent features as detailed in the product description. I am particularily impressed on the fast battery charge and more that sufficient drilling torque. I can state without hesitation, this drill can perform well beyond anything I will ever demand of it. Therefore, it was a great choice for me at a great price

This is the perfect drill for what i use it for.Has plenty of torque and RPM. Just messin around I ran a #10 2 1/2" screw head and all clean through a green 4x4 , didnt test it at all..I'm very impressed with it and recommend it highly..Quick charger is great and the extra battery is a must for ANY cordless tool, just to keep things going...Might buy one of the refurbs to keep in the truck..

Most Impressive
Had two of those cheaper cordless drills in as many years. I have only used this drill 2 or 3 times since I recieved it, but am really surprised at the quality, power and ease of use for the price! I also was surprised at how fast the Amazon free shipping got this product to my door, they were 4 to 5 days ahead of the original delivery date quoted. I highly recommend this drill!
