Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-06-30 Well made! This cot is very well made and solid. No squeaks when you turn over. The only dissapointment I have is the fact that assembly could be easier. When you assemble the last end rail it is a struggle to streach the fabric enough to lock in the end bar. Hopefully the fabric relaxes over time to make set up easier. As far as quality.......excellent! Rating: Date: 2008-06-28 Why did I wait so long? We are early seventies and sleeping on air mattresses, though comfortable makes it hard to get up, nothing to support you. So I decided on cots, which I should have done long ago. These cots by Slumberjack are wonderful; old-fashioned durability, easy to set up, though I have to use the handle of my hammer as a prybar to get the last part of the end bar to engage the post on the runner, however, for younger men this should not be needed. I have used these now twice while the nights were still fairly cold and I found it more comfortable to use a foam bedroll under me to provide better protection from the cold from below. Best of all, my wife now likes camping again. Rating: Date: 2008-06-16 Silent, sturdy, simple. I slept on this for a week straight with just a sleeping bag on top. First off, this cot is LARGE. You'll need ample space to set it up but you'll definately appreaciate it. It accomodated my Cabelas sleeping bag (which I later found out was also really a Slumberjack bag) perfectly.
Setup is fairly easy. Unfolding the frame is quick, flexing the canvas to get the cross-braces in take a little bit of getting used to but after doing it a few times you figure out the best ways and position to do it.
There is no squeaking, at all, with this cot. Also I never felt like the thing was going to collapse on me while I was sleeping. Tossing around I never heard the feet kick up off the floor or anything you sometimes hear from other flimsy cots. Rating: Date: 2008-04-18 Much better than sleeping on air mattress ! When I first started camping I would use air mattress. The air would slowly leak out at night and by morning I was sleeping on hard ground. Also very difficult to get up and down. The Slumberjack big cot is no different than getting out of real bed because of height and very roomy and comfortable. You can put sleeping bag right on top if you like. Has large storage area underneath the cot. You won't be disappointed if you purchase. The only negative is the first time you set up it is difficult to pull fabric over bar. After first time when fabric is stretched it is much easier. Rating: Date: 2008-04-15 great cot I have had other cots. they all break or bend.
this cot is very strong and comfortable. |
