Protective pocket case Amazon.com Review: For professional accuracy, nothing beats this digital thermometer for instantly ascertaining the temperature of foods, whether they're frozen, on the buffet line, or being cooked. Its 1/3-inch LCD face, protected by a rugged polycarbonate cover, displays temperatures from minus 58degrees to 302 degrees F, and updates every second. An on/off switch prolongs the life of the 1.5-volt watch battery that powers the thermometer. (Two batteries are included.) The thermometer comes with a pocket case and has a 4-5/8-inch stainless-steel stem tipped with a temperature sensor, so the thermometer reads temperatures near a food's surface or deep inside. --Fred Brack Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-06-29 A good little thermometer This is the second Taylor thermometer that I have purchased. Somehow I lost the first one. It is accurate and very useful for cooking meats. During the summer I grill and need to have something to let me know the internal temperature of the meats, especially chicken and pork tenderloin. This product is easy to clean. The only problem is that it is rather a small item and I think that was how I lost the other - it somehow got thrown out with the garbage. I would recommend this product however and the price is certainly right. Rating: Date: 2008-06-14 Not instant I purchased this item to replace an analog "instant" thermometer. But this also does not give the final result for several seconds and thus I still do not consider it "instant". Rating: Date: 2008-05-19 Much nicer than an analog (?) thermometer Bought primarily for meat, but also found it useful in testing water temperature for preparing bread dough. Have not calibrated it or anything, so I have no idea how accurate it is -- but it seems to work well. Rating: Date: 2008-05-14 Only lasted one month. I've had a couple of these digital thermometers, and somehow they don't seem to last very long. This one died after only about one month. Rating: Date: 2008-04-21 A bit Flimsy A good thermometer, but I found it a bit flimsy. It seems like the battery connection is not all that tight and it often just turns off when I am trying to take a temperature. |
