With a new generation of skilled CIA operatives tracking his every move Bourne is in a non-stop race around the globe as he finally learns the truth behind his mysterious past. Loaded with incredible fight and chase sequences it's the exhilarating movie with "mind-blowing action" (Roger Ebert Chicago Sun-Times) that you can't afford to miss!System Requirements:Running Time: 116 Mins.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: ACTION/ADVENTURE/IDENTITIES Rating: PG-13 UPC: 025193227423 Manufacturer No: 61032274 Amazon.com: The often breathtaking, final installment in the Bourne trilogy finds the titular assassin with no memory closing in on his past, finally answering his own questions about his real identity and how he came to be a seemingly unstoppable killing machine. Matt Damon returns for another intensely physical performance as Jason Bourne, the rogue operative at war with the CIA, which made him who and what he is and managed to kill his girlfriend in the series' second film, The Bourne Supremacy. Now looking for payback, Bourne goes in search for the renegade chief of CIA operations in Europe and North Africa, partnering for a time with a mysterious woman from his past (Julia Stiles) and constantly--constantly--on the run from assassins, intelligence foot soldiers, and cops. Directed by Paul Greengrass (United 93) with the director’s thrilling, trademark textures and shaky, documentary style, The Bourne Ultimatum is largely a succession of action scenes that reveal a lot about the story’s characters while they’re under duress. Joan Allen, Albert Finney, David Strathairn, Scott Glenn, and Paddy Considine comprise the film’s terrific supporting cast, and the well-traveled movie leads viewers through Turin, Madrid, Tangiers, Paris, London, and New York. Overall, this is a satisfying conclusion to Bourne’s exciting and protracted mystery. --Tom Keogh

Stills from The Bourne Ultimatum (Click for larger image) Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-06-21 Best of the Bournes "Ultimatum" is mostly a nonstop, slam-bang action movie with some eye-popping chases and a well-staged fight scene. This is both its strength and its weakness - it is fun to watch, but ultimately no more believable than a Wile E. Coyote cartoon. If you've seen the first two installments in the series, this final entry is well worth your while, and you might enjoy it even if you haven't seen the prior segments. Rating: Date: 2008-06-20 How is this related to the Bourn Ultimatum again? Follow the link: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bourne_Ultimatum. Read it. That way you fully understand that the movie you are thinking of watching is not the book adaptation. It is poorly thought up cliches that were vomitted from the bowels of someones cobwebbed imagination.
This is the third installation of a horribly adapted movie. The entire Bourne Franchise should be given the Worst Adaptation to a book ever. I will say this - for the first time I really appreciated the Bourne Character played by Matt Damon. He has always played Bourne really well. However - who are the rest of these characters? What is BlackBrair? Who is Nicky Page? Who is?.... the list goes on. What happened to Carlos the Jackal? What happened to Moe Panov? What happened to Alexander Conklin? Who in the world are all these characters? The series sucks because the deviated so far from the book that the beloved character no longer exists.
Truly. Truly. Truly dissapointing. Rating: Date: 2008-06-12 Four stars for movie but problem with HD DVD I won't get too in-depth with this review as other posters have already covered the strengths/weaknesses of the film. In a nutshell, if you liked the first two you'll probably enjoy this one. There's nothing revolutionary here but the film is exciting and well-made. I very rarely write reviews but felt compelled in this instance. I've purchased this product twice(one from Walmart and once from Amazon). In both instances, the standard dvd portion of the disc worked fine but the HD DVD portion was unplayable. I have dozens of HD DVD titles and this is the only one that will not play. The only HD DVD player I have is my XBOX 360 drive. I'm not sure if there is a bad batch of Bourne Ultimatum discs or if its simply a compatibility problem with the XBOX 360 drive. If you plan on purchasing this item(and especially if you play your discs on the 360), prepare for the possibility of technical problems. With all that said, 4 stars for the movie but only a 3 stars rating b/c of possible product defect. Rating: Date: 2008-06-12 Bourne Repeat Good enough action movie, but a bit disappointing as part of the triolgy. Feels like a repeat of the earlier two, however, if you've seen the first two you should see this one to complete the story. Rating: Date: 2008-06-08 Action-packed installment allows Bourne to "go home" Paul Greengrass is back for his second go-round directing an installment of the "Bourne" franchise, and neither he nor Matt Damon disappoint in this action-packed flick. For that matter, neither does anybody else in this polished number.
The movie opens with Bourne still bleeding after his horrific car chase through Moscow at the end of "The Bourne Supremacy." He escapes back into obscurity, but it seems only seconds until he's brought out of hiding by an enterprising journalist and a guilt-ridden CIA officer who is in charge of Blackbriar, which is a CIA program directly spinning off from Bourne's Treadstone project. Bourne's name is mentioned as the root of Treadstone.
Soon, the CIA is hunting the journalist. Under the direction of Deputy Director Noah Vosen (played with icy creepiness by the always-excellent David Straitharn), the CIA is playing for keeps - the journalist isn't being sought for questioning. Bourne gets to show off a bunch of his tradecraft while protecting the journalist, but eventually he's on the run again. This time, he's got a couple of "allies" in the CIA in Pam Landy (Joan Allen) and Nicky Parsons (Julia Stiles). Parsons, in particular, gets to hint at a back story that explains why a star of Julia Stiles' caliber has been playing such a minor character. (Mild spoiler - expect more from her in the fourth movie, already in production.)
In the Bourne movies, our hero has two choices - flee, or fight. Since Bourne has a shoddy memory, he always chooses fight so he can get answers. This time, the questions lead him to the heart of who Jason Bourne is and how he became this lethal killing machine. This is necessary, but not pleasant for Bourne.
While nobody is ever going to confuse the Bourne series with Great Cinema, it's about as good as action films get these days. Nothing will stay with you very long after you leave the theater, and Bourne isn't an iconic hero in the vein of James Bond or Indiana Jones. Perhaps it's because Bourne is so humorless - he's certainly no Jack Sparrow. But he's darn close to those guys, thanks to Damon's excellent acting and the intelligent writing that strings together the top-notch action pieces. It's hard to imagine anyone else playing Bourne as well as Damon, and it's hard to imagine this series being any better than it is.
