This is Ashanti best album to date...she has improved vocally and lyrically. The production on this album is awesome.

BEST ALBUM YET?
I am really suprised and excited that this album is a straight banger, you can actually listen to it all the way trough. This album brings back what the last two lacked .. good music, crazy production and her vocals have gotten waaaaaaaay better than when she started. Rating:

Wow...I am so surprised
I have to start by saying that I am not a fan of Ashanti. She has had some decent singles but her cds have always been fluff. But her first single on this cd caught my attention....and I am so glad it did. This cd is her best work ever. Ashanti, still not a great live performer, really shines on this cd. I think she really stepped her game up....much better material, production and even vocals.
I read she decided not to use the typical INC producers and its a good think. The title of the cd made me think of Mariah's Emancipation cd. Must be something in the water because Ashanti worked it out. I am disappointed her sales have not been better but regardless this is a great cd for her.
My favorites:
#2.."The Way That I Love You"...sound is amazing and one of the best videos I have seen in a long time. I still am amazed that it is Ashanti on this song and in this video. AWESOME.
#3."Your Gonna Miss Me".....awesome song...a different sound for her.
#4..."So Over You"... I hope this gets a video.
#7..."Things You Make Me Do"...never would I have thought to pair Ashanti with a tight singer like Robin Thicke but this is my biggest shock on the cd....Love this song.
#8.."In these streets" ...I like this one too.
#10.. "Body on Me"...I am not a Akon fan but this song is pretty tight. Definitely will be hearing it in the club.
Overall a great album for Ashanti. While she will never have the best voice out there, she really works what she has on this one. Good to see her doing more than singing songs that only have a hook for the entire song.

Fantastic!
She has done it once again and her voice has not gone out of style. My favorites are 2. The Way That I Love You, 3. You're Gonna Miss, 4. So Over You, 5. Struggle, 6. Girlfriend, 8. In These Streets, 9. Good Good, 10. Body On Me, and 12. Shine. But all are good songs, my absolute least favorite is the outro # 13- The Declaration it blares. Her best C.D. is Chapter 2 in my opinion. But if you are a fan this is a definite buy you won't be dissapointed. Rating:

NOT CONCRETE ROSE BUT I LIKE IT
I like this album. Her voice sounds much stronger and she seemed to have grown. I love that she writes her own songs too. I still like concrete rose better, but this one is pretty good. On one song she tries to holler through the whole thing. It kind of gets annoying because only people like Mariah, Beyonce, Christina Aguilera can do stuff like that and make it sound good. She can't so I could do without that track. But other than that. It's pretty good. I'm proud of her. |
