Great press!
This is my first garlic press so I don't have much to compare it to..but I love it. I actually find myself looking forward to using it! It has substantial weight to it and consistently does a thorough job of crushing up to 2 or 3 cloves at a time. And it's very easy to clean too!

worth every penny
Bought this garlic press thanks to the other reviewers. I had the oxo one which essentially just mashed the garlic down to the bottom of the press. This one works a million and one times better. Presses almost all the garlic, so just a slight pulp left in the bottom of the press. Can do 2-3 cloves at once. Does take a bit of grip strength to use, but I did not find that to be an issue. I gave the oxo one to my boyfriend but we ended up just throwing it away as it was fairly useless.

Works well, but not for long-term soaking or dishwasher use
I have been using this in my kitchen for ~6 months now and am very happy with the way it functions. It is solid and heavy, and does its job well.

Cleaning is fair, but the plastic grips actually cover sturdy but hollow handles, that could over time allow for leakage in soaking or in the dishwasher. It is well built, and in the time I have had it it has not allowed water to seep through, but I foresee this design leading to water accumulation in the handle a few years down the road.

Even so, for a reasonably priced solid garlic press, I would not hesitate to recommend this to a friend.

Beats the cheap junk
We use this press for garlic and onion for guacamole because we have friends that won't eat shaken spices (go figure). Run it under hot water right away and cleanup is a cinch. The plastic cleaner thing works well, but don't put it in the dishwasher. This tool is heavy and feels like it is meant for business.

Great garlic press at a great price
My expensive european-made garlic press recently pressed a piece of its stainless-steel screen right into my meatballs. So, it was time for a new one. What a pleasant surprise to get this press and find that it is rated the America's Test Kitchen [Cook's Illustrated Magazine] Best Buy rating--and $25 less than replacing my old one. And, it is easier to clean to boot.
