Loads of Space; Not a Speed Demon
I purchased this drive as a replacement for the one in my laptop. The case is hard to get into if you don't know how, but the effort paid off in the end. My old drive was a 4200 rpm drive and this one is a 5400; and it is faster, uses less power and is much quieter than the Fujitsu from my old machine. Overall it was a good pruchase.

Excellent and Stylish Data Storage:
This small, sleek hard drive has been just perfect for me. I have been downloading educational movies for use in my job on it, and the process has been fast and efficient with my Passport. The red is really sharp, and it is very easy to carry my Passport to work with me. Great product!

Small in size, big in storage!
This is my second WD Passport hard drive. It's definitely the best external drive given my needs - large enough to use as my OS X Time Machine backup, small enough to travel with / carry around. I've had other external drives that weigh a ton and take up precious desk space.

PROS:

* Doesn't need a separate power adapter (just USB connection to my laptop)
* Comes in cool colors and not just boring black
* Because it's so popular, there are many carrying cases you can buy online that will fit perfectly - I travel a lot and need to protect it.
* Competitively priced

There is one CON: I wish it had firewire support so I can transfer files faster!

Good little product.
I have had no problems with this product. I have read in the past that this product is kinda slow but if you do your homework and research this product, it states that it is 5400 rpm's. Most people are used to 7200 rpm's, I think that this is why people notice that it is slower, either way it is a good product. I have not used the network program that is installed in it. I just use it as a simple storage device. The product has gotten a little thicker than the previous version and I wish it had stayed that way but this gripe is too small to make a huge difference on how I think about this product.

Two times I lost data.
Generally I am happy with WD disks. I am using Western Digital My Book Premium 2TB External Hard Drive and 1 TB without any problem. This disk orinally came with Fat, I change it NTFS. Probab because of USB at least two times this external drive lost some directory files. I used chkdsk. One time it solved the problem. But second time I lost data. Until this I can not trust this disk. If it is possible I plan to use disk as internal hard drive.
