It offers full Microsoft DirectX 10 with full Shader Model 4.0 support, delivering unparalleled levels of graphics realism and film-quality effects. The card is built on NVIDIA's unified architecture with GigaThread technology, a massively multi-threaded architecture that supports thousands of independent, simultaneous threads, providing extreme processing efficiency in advanced, next-generation shader programs. The card's NVIDIA SLI Technology dramatically scales performance by allowing two graphics cards to be run in parallel. This must-have technology for gamers delivers up to twice the performance of a single GPU configuration for unparalleled gaming experiences. It also features an integrated NVIDIA TV encoder with HDTV and S-Video outputs, and dual DVI connectors, which let you drive the industry's largest and highest resolution flat-panel displays (up to 2560x1600 displays). Other features include PCI Express 2.0 support, which increases both graphics and overall system performance, and Open GL 2.1 support, which ensures the best compatibility and performance for all OpenGL applications. Although the 9600 GT is designed to provide loads of graphics solutions, you'll notice the biggest difference in gaming. This GPU delivers ultra-realistic graphics and outstanding performance for the best gaming experience. And with the unprecedented stability, reliability, and compatibility, your computer's graphic processing will only be outdone by your gaming prowess. About NVIDIA SLI Technology NVIDIA SLI technology is a revolutionary platform innovation that allows you to intelligently scale graphics performance by combining multiple NVIDIA graphics solutions in a single system with an NVIDIA nForce SLI media and communications processor (MCP). Using proprietary software algorithms and dedicated scalability logic in each NVIDA graphics process unit and MCP, NVIDIA SLI technology delivers up to twice the performance of a single graphic solution. Basically, a pair of SLI-ready cards running in SLI mode can deliver up to twice the performance, allowing you to increase the detail or resolution in your favorite games. Plus, you'll get all this improved clarity without any interruption of your game play--your system will run smooth as glass. To take full advantage of the 9600 GT's SLI-ready features, you'll need an SLI-ready PC. This type of PC consists of an NVIDIA nForce SLI motherboard and one SLI-ready graphics card, such as the 9600 GT. With the 9600 GT and an NVIDIA nForce SLI motherboard powering your PC, you now have the ability to upgrade by adding a second SLI-ready graphics card at any time. No other PC component upgrade can offer the gaming performance boost gained by adding a second graphics card. NVIDIA SLI-ready components are backed by a rigorous testing and certification process to deliver an entire certification platform solution that ensures unmatched system stability and platform compatibility. NVIDIA Windows Vista-Ready Benefits The 9600 GT is a Windows Vista-ready graphics card that delivers a premium 3D user experience. This component drives the Windows VistaAero user interface and works as a second processor for the PC. The "second processor" is dedicated to graphics, offloading work from the CPU for better performance in multimedia-rich environments. With this work horse in your PC, you'll experience increased productivity with faster desktop response time and efficient multi-tasking without delay or stutters. It's amazing how much you'll benefit from instant access to multiple open windows and support for multiple monitors. You'll also be pleased with the crisp, vibrant look of all your photographs--NVIDIA digital vibrance control delivers unprecedented color clarity. Customer Reviews: Rating: Date: 2008-06-19 Great card - runs HOT! this card is a joy to use, has sped up all my games enough to actually make them playable! BUT remember to put a fan directly on the card..because mine gets soooo hot you can't even touch it! believe it or not!, and it will shut down my system,
had to open the side of the computer and put a small table fan blowing directly on the card {when playing games} no problems and works GREAT!
any other options for cooling are welcomed! but the fan was the least expensive. Rating: Date: 2008-06-13 low expectations superbly met card works just fine. except: a really annoying high pitched whine that is always audible, and it isn't recognized by second life. whatever that means. haven't tried other video games. and i'm always in headphones. i kept it because of the lifetime warranty. Rating: Date: 2008-06-12 Excellent Product I had just replaced my ATi Radeon X1950 Pro with this eVGA e-GeForce 9600 GT. It runs so much better then my ATi could ever have even when I had it overclocked. Naturally I put my new hardware under tests by playing them on different games with varied graphical settings. I can play all of my current games on the highest setting with ease and I'm at a steady framerate of 50+ on all of them. I recommend this to any gamer that is wishing to get his/her bang for the buck.
Tip: Remember to have or if you don't have, get a good power supply so you can get the full potential out of this thing :D Rating: Date: 2008-05-29 Great! Tried 4 different cards in a few months.. Did a lot of research and ended up trying 4 different cards in a few months. This is an excellent card - looks like nVidia got it right. I'm pleased with this purchase. Rating: Date: 2008-05-17 9600 GT I was excited when this card came out, and i went out and bought it the same day >.<,
Well luckily for me my spur of the moment decision did not fail me!
I had the 8800 GTS 320mb card special edition from PNY, Which i replaced with this.
The upgrade is pretty good, It is not SUPER but an extra 30 FPS in WoW with dual mons on, and alot better ALOT better shadding, physics, It used to be when i turned DX10 smoke shader's and all on, the pc would lag lag lag! But now it runs fairly smooth!
But since i have an outdated (at least in the gaming world) Mobo I'm going to upgrade to an SLI board and get another one of these baby's!
Theses are wonderful cards, they are cheap, they are powerful as hell, and they look soooo slick!
I def recommend.
TIP! I love EVGA sure but on the side of the card, there is an EVGA sticker
It's very easily removed, and under it is the most amazing Nvidia GeForce symbol EVER!
I recommend taking it off to see the default one which is so much cooler! |
